Interior Swap chat
Anyone ever swap out their interior for a different color? Did this on a project car many moons ago (2002 Acura RSX Type-S). Swapped out every trim/panels/hatch area/seat belts, carpet, dash...the whole nine from tan to Black. Diggin my silver interior trim but Orange...... An interior panel swap and an exterior wrap. To be honest, looks as if it might even be cheaper to do it on the M5 F10 vs it did on the RSX due to how little many items. Just need to play the waiting/searching game.
Items to swap: Driver front / rear door panels Passenger front / rear door panels Center console All seats Am I crazy...or wish me luck on the journey?

In terms of sourcing the seats, I was able to find someone selling them from a wrecked M5.
When actually doing the swap, there was no coding involved. The center console is straight forward just remove and replace (remember to swap over modules). For the rear seats, once you remove the old ones, you will want to swap the modules into the new rear seats. Front seats, you will want to remove 1 module from your each of the existing seats, kind of difficult to remove but they do pop out. From what I remember, its a white colored box with connectors. Door panels are easy for the most part. Many videos online on how to remove the panels. Try to find door panels with the speaker covers on them already it will make the swap much easier. Happy to help and answer any questions that come up during the swap itself. |
