How to buid an M5 at home
Hi, first im going to excuse me for my lousy english.
Im from Argentina, i just bought a turned over 2013 M5 with only 12.000km. it has Manhart kit with something around 700hp. I cant let it die, since i hear about the crash, i was behind the car, finally i get it. Im going to sound a little nutz, but i want to dismantle entirely and swap all the mecanichs to a 5 series. Im starting to dismantle it first, but im going to need an m5 workshop manual a little of your help. Can anyone help me with the workshop manual? Some pictures of the beast! Thanks in advance! |

WoW! Double WoW! You must have gotten that for,...about $29! Lots of work ahead! GL
Edit: Triple WoW! Looks like nearly every panel needs to be replaced! You are one brave person... Edit:,..again! So, you're going to take all of the M5 stuff an stuff into a 5-Series,...to make your own M5! Well, you'll have M5 power,..of course,..but you won't have an M5 because of the VIN! Would this not be the ultimate poser?,...at a very high price!

Damn that's intense.
In any case, this would be interesting to find out. P.S. How's the BMW M5 F10 scene in Argentina? I think Argentina is one of the top 3 countries in Latin America with the most number of M5 F10 cars (the other being Brazil and Chile) |

this is what my friend told me he does for his clients that own high end cars, different part of Latin america though, he will buy the car totaled and have the car shipped for around $2k, then he pays a mechanic to pull everything apart, keep in mind that labor is very cheap, he uses copart.com

I guess it's almost better if you find one that was say water damaged and the panels good and then transfer everything from one car to that.. at least it would still be an M5.

I wonder if it would be easier to just repair the damaged car with a donor 5 series for body panels.
Plus then you have the M5 VIN. Either way, this looks like an incredibly challenging project.

There are tons of adjustment between different components of suspension/differential which is a BIG issue for a high performance heavy big car like M5. You would do the repair for a 3 series easily but for M5? I wouldn't do that at all. Lots of pain and money and you will regret at the end of process. This car is sub-frame damaged, unibody damaged, suspension damaged because the majority of those parts are made from aluminum. Doors , panels, roof , hood and trunk must be replaced and many thing else...

Makes sense. Even if it's technically completed, I'd be skeptical on how well it will drive compared to a normal F10 M. |
