MHD flash tune hope
Since MHD is now starting to do OBD2 flash tunes for some of the F series, I hope they can show some love for the F10 M5 crowd. I should hear back from them shortly.

Received a message from MHD today stating they will offer tunes for the S63TU sometime in 2018. The S55 and N55 cars are their priority for now. MHD looks to have been very successful with the N54 crowd. This gives me an incentive to wait and see what they will produce as the OBD2 tunes continue to be refined.

Note, I've yet to get a redline pull data log,...and the highest torque data log I've registered is "473nm"! I can't wait for the F10 M5 version!

Installed MHD stage 1 on the GF's 08 535 xiT, she's very happy with it, but I'll be upgrading to stage 2 soon since I've got a 7" VRSF IC waiting to be installed. Definitely made a huge difference though. I asked them over IM about getting some S63 love and they said no :/ That's cool they're looking into the S63TU though

Love my Quickjack, bought it directly from their website and used a coupon code MONEY to get $100 off :-) I think it was like $1450 to my door.
I've driven from Seattle to Hollywood for Bimmerfest 7x now while in a large group, so being BMW's we've had to do anything from additional fender rolling, water pumps, alternators to SMG pumps on the side of the highway in the middle out nowhere...unless we were lucky enough to make it to a parking lot and use curbs as lifts lol. Then there's suspension, clutch, etc swaps I've done at the house while having to take turns in the garage. With that in mind, I got the 12V for complete portability and use anywhere. I chose the 7000EXT since my heaviest vehicles (Harley F150 and X5M) are just a hair over 5000lbs, otherwise I'd have gotten the 5000EXT since it's like 40lbs lighter and a little narrower. They still fit perfectly into the bag of the X5M so long as they're in the up position. While the truck was no issue because I can lift it anywhere on the frame, I had to get the EXT because it was the only one that was long enough to reach the jackpads on the X5M, and even then I'm sitting on about 2/3 of each jackpad. It's completely stable though...I've pushed from the sides, climbed in and out without even a budge. It comes with I think 2" and 3" rubber blocks, which can be stacked or used individually. The X5M being lowered wouldn't allow me to fit them stacked, so I used the 3" and I'm sitting just under 23" in the air...took all of 30 seconds. I can stack them under the Harley, so that'll get me to 25". They sell a truck frame kit so I can get like 6" more inches of height but I just don't trust adding 3 separate pieces that combine into an I-shaped beam...I envision being tipped off them too easily Last edited by m5james; 03-31-2018 at 01:30 PM.. |

Thanks for your post. Looking over their website I'm impressed with the product. I ordered the 5000EXT also, their free shipping within the USA of such a heavy item is unusual. I'm tired of using two jacks, one to allow the larger one under the car, then lifting with the larger one. This will be so much easier. I don't anticipate using it other than at home or at the track and I have a small generator for the 110V model. Oh, the MONEY discount does still work.

Usage: so just line up under the jack points and press the button? Or press until it’s close... make sure it’s aligned and then let it rip?
Website says there is a mechanical lock once raised as a safety - do you feel comfortable with that? Also, can you leave the car in the raised position for extended periods? |

Looked through pictures on the QuickJack website and saw one Porsche using the lift ACROSS the WIDTH of the car. I'd never thought of that, so measured the lift points on the M5 and they happen to be the same distance front to rear as they are side to side. Is that coincidence or is that BMW engineering making the chassis stiffer somehow? Last edited by Used2be; 03-31-2018 at 06:09 PM.. |

Yeah, it's an arm that just drops down as it's going up. On the end of the arm is a little lock that'll just slide over the two different locking locations. Once it's to the height you want, lower it to the locks and then you can discontent the hydraulic lines. Mines been sitting at full height for almost a month now, only time it's moved since is because I let my daughter play with it by running it up and down a few times :-) There's lots of videos on YouTube about it, both by users and Quickjack themselves giving tutorials, tips and tricks, etc. |
