Another Porsche for me: 2018 991.2 Carrera GTS Cabriolet!!

Yes, I went for a cab. I did some deeper research and drove the car for a bit to understand if I was going enjoy the chassis and the soft top; I found out that I was very pleased. The magenesium set up creates a very rigid connection and the performance for a stock car is outstanding.

I have mentioned this before and this backs up what I say, its not all about hp and tq unless you can really deliver it to the ground (cliche but true). 450 hp stock hp in car that weighs slightly over 3300 lbs delivers. I didnt believe the mags numbers at 3.0 and 3.1 etc to 60 but after repeated launches and drives, I had no more doubts. Its a very fast stock car with great 2wd drive rear engine grip (I think its actually mid engine).

2018 Porsche Carrera GTS Cabriolet
161100 MSRP
Carmine Red

Anyways, its not like Ive never had a 991 (this is my 5th) so I get the reason why so many love the Porsche crack and Im no different. Is it the fastest, no, the best, no but its new and its a cab and I live in Cali. The GTS is a great daily driver and puts up amazing numbers similar to the 991.2 GT3. I call it a baby Turbo in stock set up but I must admit, mods have been done:

GIAC Tune (60hp/60tq)
Soul Performance High Flow Cats (12hp/12tq plus bad ass sound)
Techart Lowering Springs
Tint

So Im probably around 510 hp at the crank on a car that weighs like this and was trapping close to 122 in the OEM tests. Its different but I need to change it up. I have too many sedans LOL.

Big thanks to board sponsor and long time partner supremepower aka Eric and Damian who did all the work and part sourcing.

Nice whip, my buddy has a GTS and he loves it and it actually sounds better than the Turbo S. Racing he hung in there with my RS, but the added aero and grip on the RS was the game changer. But, GT3 is a good DD with sound and I prefer it over the Turbo S, and it’s a lower production car. Love the color.

I have to agree, out of the box the GTS with its "tiny" 3.0 sounds great with the PSE but adding the HFC's creates an even better sound. Its awesome for me yet docile when I cruise outside of WOT pushes.

Where this Porsche has got better is with the tech; the new PCM is so much better, faster, clearer than the old mini screen ones.

I love the wheel:

The difference in the power and torque curves between the those GTS motors and the new .2 GT3 motor are crazy.

Congrats Vic!

Agree, Porsche makes some of the best stock wheels .....no need to trade out. The rears are massive.

Damn dude; your builds are always perfect. Even when you go aftermarket wheels on your other builds they always seem to be perfect ... elegant OEM ++ feel to them.

Beautiful car!

Absolutely stunning Vic55

Not a fan of soft tops, but California weather allows for the top to be down year around.

Any plans for the 991.2 GT3? Have 2 clients of mine that just got them and they are absolutely stunning.
