misfire cyl 6
hey guys I was driving on a bumper to bumper traffic the other day and I started to feel the car a little weird , as soon as I get off traffic I push the car a little bit and the drivetrain malfunction code turns on.
after scanning the car with a obd2 reader found out a cyl 6 misfire I shut the car off reset the code and it went away , I drove the car about 300 after that with no issues but I'm still concerning what could have cause that?? what is should check i plug the obd2 reader and no code was found ???? any ideas I'm sitting on 75k miles |

Coil going bad? Coincidentally, that's the same cylinder I had a misfire and DTMAL on, though mine didn't go away when I restarted. I replaced the coil and all has been good. Luckily it's in front of the ECU, so pretty easy to replace if you want to try that.

The best any of us can do is give you wild guesses. A random misfire could be just a glitch/hiccup or could be a lot of other minor problems.
I'd suggest removing the coil and spark plug to inspect it. Probably just change both since they will be out and are cheap. |
