Bimmercode App

Hi all,

Has anyone tried the Bimmercode App? http://www.bimmercodeapp.com/

Friend just did it for his M2 and said it was super easy setup. Looks like there is F10 support for it too. Just wanted to see if any one has had any experience with it. Happy coding!

Interesting !!
Might give this a try, would come out to 50$ total with the OBD tool. Not bad considering a coder charges like $100+

People have had good results w the app. There's a large thread on the M2 forum and 2addicts forums with many users having a positive experience.

Glad to hear it's working for other owners. Small investment (~$50) even if it doesn't work. Easier for me than coding since I don't own a Windows based laptop.

From the app, looks pretty mindless. For those interested, this is the ODB adapter I picked up:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A1C6KRT5EMIPWX

I'll post my initial impressions once I get it and play with it.

Yep, my adapter got here a couple days ago too and I'm gonna give the app a shot over weekend. Hope it goes smoothly!

Good comparison review here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=973239

I have been using Carly since my E60 M5 days but I have the Android version. I had to buy a Carly dongle last year ($70) when I got my F10 M5 since the generic dongle I used before no longer worked. The Carly dongle was worth it and can be plugged in 24/7 since it has an on/off switch.

When used with my Acer Iconia Android tablet, it's not overly stable so I have been looking at an IOS based coder instead.

Glad to hear about the positive reviews thus far. Adapter gets in today from amazon and will give me something to play with over the holiday weekend. Will try and update thread with pics and results.

Honestly, it's not what I expected. I did expect a few more options.
Was not able to code the tire sensor temperate and psi. Keep getting an error when accessing the Crash safety module. And I can't seem to disable ASD. If someone can help me with that plz.

I read that it has expert mode so seems you can code just about anything you want.

Also spoke to support and they told me to use the app on Slow Connection setting for the error I was getting, and that worked for me as well.

All I'm really missing is the TPMS info coded, besides that its actually pretty good for 48$ total. Plus I'm sure it will get updates as we go and maybe I can learn some of the Expert mode stuff.

Agree with 550. Finally got around to playing with it this weekend. Very simple to use the basic functions and got me all the functionality I wanted. I'll have to delve into the Expert mode stuff later. Pretty cheap investment with good results.

Recently used it on my M5, pretty straightforward to use. Obviously missing a few things as mentioned. I also bought the BimmerLink app ($30) which has a couple of cool features like option to keep exhaust flaps open and disable/enable ASD while driving by just a couple of clicks. Also it can show some cool parameters (tricky, as in German) /errors from the OBD. Hope to see more coding options become available with BimmerCode

Which option did you code to keep the exhaust flap open?

I didn't code it per se through BimmerCode. There is a separate app called bimmerlink which costs around 30 bucks. Connects through the same wifi adapter and once connected, you can choose betweeen different settings for exhaust flap ON/AUTO/OFF. Also can do the same for ASD (ON/OFF). More convenient than having to enable/disable through the coding app and I can change settings while driving. Here is the link: BimmerLink for BMW by Stephan Gauch

Is there a way to permanently code the exhaust flaps open? Currently the flaps close when I turn the ignition off. Would like to keep them open permanently via coding.

Can't be coded. Mainly because the values are vacuum controlled. When the vehicle is turned off the vacuum supply is cut off and the values close. If you want the values open all the time, you have to physically wire them open.

I just got this in yesterday and tried it out. I was able to code most things I wanted within like 10 minutes. Pretty amazing for the price.

I did..
- turn off radio when door is opened
- TPMS show temps and psi
- Close trunk with keyfob
- Fold mirrors on locking of door
- DVD in motion

I didn't check, but I really hope there is the anti-dazzle option in there.
