Insurance Costs for M5s and X5Ms

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey guys,

What's everyone paying for their insurance for 6 months on their M5 and X5M leases?

I'm in NYC now and am getting absurd quotes.
2000 for m5, and 1700 for x5m.

Thanks.

Ouch.. I pick up my M5 next month so will be starting to get quotes shortly. I was going to try the usual major companies and then liberty mutual to see how they compare. (Since liberty mutual seems to be highly recommended by BMW CCA)

Ouch, I am paying around $700 / 6mo for the M5 and 13 VW Jetta. Both full coverage with 100/300 and all the extra options.

Texas here.

In California.

That is an average rate here in NYC. NY/NJ rates saw a big jump back in 2010-2012.

I have a F13 M6, live in Manhattan, and pay $2000/6 months. Use Geico.

You guys should shop around, those rates are high. I live in Northern NJ (I believe NJ is rated as one of the highest cost, if not the highest, car insurance states in the country), and I'm paying $2,850 per year for my 2016 M5, a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. I'm with New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance and also have my house and umbrella policies with them so enjoying the multi-plan discounts.

$1147.93 6/mos w/ Esurance

100/300 comp & collision
100/300 uins/under non-stacked
100 property damage
10 PIP
$500 deductibles

35 y/o, clean record.

Best rate I could get. However I'm located in the #6 highest insurance fraud area in the US, which doesn't help.

Sorry, typo, that is $2000/year, not for 6 months, $1000k deductible.

I pay $1500 a year for a 2010 Mazda 6 (partial) and a 2013 M5 (full). My insurance went from $700 to $1500 when adding the M5, so the insurance for it is only $800 ($400/6mo)

I have a pretty clean record: driving since 18 (25 now), only 1 ticket in past 2 years, no accidents, and I also have home insurance with them. I'm with Erie Insurance (ohio).

edit: I tried Geico, best they could offer me was $600/6mo

Also depends what county you live in. My insurance went up $200 per 6 months when I moved from Manhattan to the Bronx, even though I moved to a better neighborhood and car is parked inside the attached garage in my house. I have accident free discounts/no claims/no tickets ever and longtime customer 26 yrs with State Farm. So you can have the greatest driving record and still get screwed by the county you live in.

Shop around, change your insurance company, take off unnecessary options like vehicle warranty etc. also mention that you have live internet and you can locate your car from anywhere that will drop 10% from your premium. Pre-collision system, bmw 24/7 road assist mention all those stuff you will get discounts!!! Change your out of pocket from 500 to 1000.
