Insurance Costs for M5s and X5Ms
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com What's everyone paying for their insurance for 6 months on their M5 and X5M leases? I'm in NYC now and am getting absurd quotes. 2000 for m5, and 1700 for x5m. Thanks. |

Ouch.. I pick up my M5 next month so will be starting to get quotes shortly. I was going to try the usual major companies and then liberty mutual to see how they compare. (Since liberty mutual seems to be highly recommended by BMW CCA)

Ouch, I am paying around $700 / 6mo for the M5 and 13 VW Jetta. Both full coverage with 100/300 and all the extra options.
Texas here.

That is an average rate here in NYC. NY/NJ rates saw a big jump back in 2010-2012.

Like 176.81 per month. You must have bad driving history or you are young. |

$1147.93 6/mos w/ Esurance
100/300 comp & collision 100/300 uins/under non-stacked 100 property damage 10 PIP $500 deductibles 35 y/o, clean record. Best rate I could get. However I'm located in the #6 highest insurance fraud area in the US, which doesn't help.

I pay $1500 a year for a 2010 Mazda 6 (partial) and a 2013 M5 (full). My insurance went from $700 to $1500 when adding the M5, so the insurance for it is only $800 ($400/6mo)
I have a pretty clean record: driving since 18 (25 now), only 1 ticket in past 2 years, no accidents, and I also have home insurance with them. I'm with Erie Insurance (ohio). edit: I tried Geico, best they could offer me was $600/6mo |

Also depends what county you live in. My insurance went up $200 per 6 months when I moved from Manhattan to the Bronx, even though I moved to a better neighborhood and car is parked inside the attached garage in my house. I have accident free discounts/no claims/no tickets ever and longtime customer 26 yrs with State Farm. So you can have the greatest driving record and still get screwed by the county you live in.
