Rear Diff Leak
Just noticed that I have a few drops on the ground under the rear diff & looked under the car to notice some oil near the rear diff plastics.
Had the fluid changed at 58k (now 62k) about 6 months ago. Is is possible that they overfilled? Or more likely that a seal is bad? Hoping it's not axles... Surprised because I took it to the BMW dealer for an oil change 2 months ago where they inspected it and said everything's good. Mods are Downpipes and a BM3 Stage 2 91 octane tune. Thx all! |

Strangely enough, the leak is coming from the upper, fill plug. Which likely means it was overfilled and the seal on the plug is going...

Get a new crush washer, pull the plug on top check the level, install new washer and seal it up. See if the leak continues. GL
