Resonator Delete
I just wanted to share some feedback in case others are considering this. I currently have a 2013 M5 with ERace mufflers. I decided today to have the resonators removed and straight pipes added. On my drive home I would say noise increased from a 7 to 8. You can really only tell when in the higher RPM range. The biggest difference I felt was when I got home and revved the engine a few times in the garage. It seemed significantly louder.
I'm glad I did it for $200. Also I was able to get a good look under the car and I'm happy I did not spring for the Eisenmann mid pipes. Stock exhaust is very free flowing and large. $200 vs $2200 seems like a good decision to me to get virtually the same thing. Thanks to everyone for all the information on here that made me try this out. |

hm, this sounds interesting. almost like what i did with my c63... simply removed my secondary cats and put straight pipes.. and sounded completely stock, until you opened it up. loved it, and was cheap.
curious as to if anyone has their resonators removed with downpipes?? OP, do you have a clip by chance? |

I don't notice any additional drone from deleting the resonators. I will say I notice a big difference when in my parking garage at work. I'm very surprised how much more turbo noise is noticeable now from just deleting the resonators. Really like this mod paired my with ERace cans.

RPI GTM plus RPI downpipes. No mufflers no resonators. Loudest exhaust combination available for F10 M5 and great quality. m6beast is launching a new exhaust which should be fantastic too.

I later replaced with aftermarket resonators from magnaflow and that made a huge difference all around and reduced my drone with Downpipes drastically.

I would not spring the $2k for Eisenmann midpipes and just go to a respected exhaust shop. Took a local shop about 1 hour to cut out the resonators. I went with the more expensive piping so I think aluminized steel? Cant remember because a long time ago. I actually went OEM catless downpipes with the set up and it was mean. A lot of drone though after I went catless. Best overall I felt was Erace mufflers and resonator delete. It was still somewhat civil at times. |

I think you will regret Esport. Go erace mufflers to start. That is not very loud in my opinion. I started with that
