Normal waiting time for delivery on ED

My M5 finished production on October 31st. Up until now its been waiting at the dock to be loaded onto a ship. Is it normal to be waiting that long (6 days) before its loaded onto a ship?? thanks for your input

I dropped mine off on 7/10. It didn't ship out until 7/31. And I believe it wasn't loaded until the day before departure.

Hang in there. The wait is brutal!!

What port are you shipping to?

Check out the shipping schedule from Bremerhaven...

my M5 build was finished on Oct 30. I think mine will be on the Nov 11 ship. My port of entry is Brunswick, Ga.

good luck!

Email LogInOut where you dropped the car. They should have the name of the ship a week after drop off.

Rocky...UPDATE Nov 7

Just call BMWUSA 1800-831-1117 and found out that my M5 was shipped yesterday, Nov 6, on the Columbia Highway cargo ship. Docking in South Hampton, England, in about 2 hours. Following it on their GPS tracking site.

You may want to call BMW for the most updated info....good luck!!

Oh ok, so your purchase is not an ED. ED is European Delivery which means picking up the vehicle in Germany. The title of your thread is waiting time delivery for ED. It actually should read, waiting time for an ordered vehicle.
The two are very different in how long it takes at the VPC at Port Hueneme.
Ordered cars can take a week or less while ED cars can take weeks if there were damage.

Ordered cars will likely clear your car while still on the ship. Should arrive faster than mine when it hits Port Hueneme. Mine was ED the VPC wait was painful, as there is zero status updates until BMW enters a date for release to car carrier.

I don't know what is the normal wait time since there are so many factors involved. A car carrier has capacity in the thousands and they need to fill the entire ship before it departs. Therefore it shouldn't surprise you that it does take some time after your car arrives at Bremehaven. There are multiple manufacturers with different factory locations like Munich and Stuttgard and they all are some distances away from port.
My best guess is that you will pick up the car right before Christmas.

So I called BMWNA ED and she told me my car is going to be on the CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY and it has a departure of the 26 of Dec and arrives in the States on the 8th of Jan but according to track my vessel websites it shows that the ship is in Charleston SC as of Dec 16 so I am not sure where my car is LOL
