Best way to remove gum?

I've read about several approaches, just wondering what has worked best for you when removing gum like this.

Petrol should to remove it and it looks like you need front BMW stone flaps, they'll save your sills and door bottoms from stone chips also.

3M auto adhesive remover worked like a charm

The gum is gone after only a few minutes of working with the 3M auto adhesive remover. Great product. I learned to work it quickly before it dried/evaporated, and let the product do the work.

Absolutely no damage to the paint.
