Song Information in HUD

Cannot verify but been advised if you have a 2012 model then calls and music to display on HUD cannot be coded in as the firmware of car needs to be updated to allow coding for above..

Can anyone verify as Bmw in Uk aren't aware of any firmware updates for earlier pre LCI models..

Can you put 2014 firmware onto a 2012 car is that what is required?

I did the coding when i got the car and entertainment definitely shows in the hud. However i drive around in M display on so that i can see the tach and it prevents nav, entertainment, etc from showing unfortunately.
