Mud Flaps

I am going to buy front and rear mud flaps for Autumn/Winter as I am sick of the car getting trashed.

We live in the country so I don't even get to the end of the lane before the car is splattered with mud and cow shit.

Having a black car they wont show up as much but still don't look great, either way it will stop a lot of dirt and chips

The standard 5 series mudflaps will fit

Has anyone fitted them? How much difference do they make?

I have the front guards fitted permanently and they do an excellent job of protecting the bottom of the doors and sills from stone damage and filth.
The rear guards stay off until the winter.

The plastic lock plugs come in the kit with the flaps, you'll have to carefully cut and pull the old ones off the car with sharp knife and pull with tweezers to get them off at the front then fitting the flaps and pushing the new tabs in locks it in place.
The rears are a easier with a firmer fitting with fewer plugs and one small bolt at the back that you can just get to with a mini ratchet with the wheel in place, but wear some thin rubber gloves not to rub the back of your hand.
