SEKTION9: An Inside Look Into the Vorsteiner Design Studio with the F82 M4

SEKTION9 - Vorsteiner F8x M3/M4 Aerodynamic Component Development

With the release of BMW's newest M3 and M4, SEKTION9 is excited to give you an inside look into the Vorsteiner Design Studio specifically on the development of the aero components for the F8x M3 and M4 chassis. For a decade Vorsteiner has been researching and developing carbon aerodynamic components for the BMW market beginning with the iconic E46 M3 - three chassis prior to the current F8x M3/M4.

The design process begins with the external mapping of the OEM bumpers and body shapes. This mapping and scanning replicates the dimensions of the M3 and M4 body into the development software to begin the prototyping in a true-to-scale 3D environment. This 3D scanning technology allows for the precise measurement of each OEM component for the perfect fit of each aero component. Vorsteiner's designers have been developing multiple renditions for these components which are currently being CNC rapid prototyped and fitted to this test M4.

Stay tuned for updates from SEKTION9 and Vorsteiner about the new development and releases including more then just aero pieces for the F8x M3 and M4.

Vorsteiner just sent over some pics of their prototype pieces fresh off the CNC. The new parts will now be test fitted on the cars with final adjustments made to them to ensure a perfect fitment before they go to final production.

Vorsteiner sent over some studio images of the final production pieces, can't wait to get them in our hands and start seeing them on cars!
