What a PITA.

Has anyone opened the ECU housing yet? I just tried and what a PITA it is to get to. I didn't get that far because I didn't want to start unbolting pieces.

I'm sure they did that for a reason

No doubt. I hear this is the hardest part when tuning your car; getting to the ECU.

c'mon, it's not hard guys. simple as a matter of fact.
1. remove the six 8mm screws holding the microfilter housing and remove the housing
2. remove the square cowl piece on the right side
3. remove two more 8mm screws holding down the cowl
4. lift the cowl up and slide out.
5. the e box cover has 2 slide locks and 2 'hook' locks with a lock on each side. slide the slide locks to the open side and unhook the hook locks with your finger or a pick tool of some sort and remove the ebox cover.

should take you less than 10 minutes.

At least its easy to access in the engine bay. For my current car I had to solder wires under the steering column. Not the most pleasant experience. I am looking forward to be able to work on this car standing and being able to see everything clearly.

so, tuned, please tell me... all these ECU stuffs are not going to void any warranty even though you have to mess around such way?? I am kinda skeptical.. I want to have warranty on my ride.
