Loads of things to see and do in London -
1) Take the river boat from Westminster to Greenwich - takes you along the River Thames and you see a side of London that most people miss. Greenwich is a lovely place to go wander around 2) Camden Market (Camden underground station) 3) Natural History Museum and Science Museum (next to each other - South Kensington underground station) 4) Harrods (UK's most prestigious department store, like Bloomingdale's in NYC) 5) Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square (in the evening, for the buzz and bars everywhere) 6) Covent Garden 7) Buckingham Palace, St James' Park 8) London Eye 9) Trafalgar Square 10) Take an open-top tour bus around London - you'll see a lot that you wouldn't normally get to 11) Oxford Street, Bond Street, Regent Street for shopping As the poster above says, look at toptable.co.uk for ideas on restaurants. Also check out squaremeal.co.uk Outside London (in order of my own personal preference) - 1) Stonehenge 2) Brighton 3) Windsor and Windsor Castle 4) Bath 5) Edinburgh (Scotland) 6) Lake District 7) York (north of the country) 8) Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare's home)

The under water train leaks sometimes, so don't wear your best clothes.

The Marlboro Restaurant in Weymouth is the best fish and chip shop in the world (imho, of course!)

Ya know, Will, the worst fish and chips I ever ate in England was in Whitby.
OP, alongside what Tony (E92fan) stated, downstream from Greenwich is the Thames Barrier which is rather interesting. My favourite places to take visitors in London are: Tower of London Tower Bridge - take the tour, it's worth it. Also, stand midspan straddling the gap between the bascules until a heavy lorry drives by. St Paul's Cathedral - climb the stairs to the galleries. Millenium Bridge British Museum - the Elgin Marbles, Isle of Lewis Chessmen, Rosetta Stone, mummies (no daddies). If you have time the Victoria and Albert Museum, South Kensington. Antique market at Portobello Road (Saturday's very busy but also the best time to go). If you like Tex-Mex, there's the Texas Embassy Cantina at 1 Oceania House on Cockspur Lane near Trafalgar Square. It's the same building as the Canadian Embassy and used to be the Head Offices of The White Star Line of RMS Titanic fame. Outside of London: Leeds Castle, Maidstone Dover Castle, Dover. Tour "Hellfire Corner" if you're interested in Operation Dynamo, the Dunkirk evacuation in May 1940. Winchester Cathedral (the building, not the song) Salisbury Cathedral. Old Sarum Stonehenge Portsmouth. There is the HMS Victory, HMS Warrior (iron framed warship predates Merrimack and Monitor), HMS Mary Rose (King Henry VIII's naval flagship). Further west: Bristol (SS Great Britain); Clifton Gorge Suspension Bridge designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunnel (as was SS Great Britain, btw) Bath Wells Cathedral Glastonbury Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor Cheddar Gorge Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton Plymouth (think Pilgrims) Tamar Bridge, Saltash Eden Project, St. Austel Tintagel, Cornwall (King Arthur's Castle, Oldest Post Office in England) Land's End Goonhilly Earth Station, Goonhilly Downs OK, that should keep you occupied for a couple of hours.
