I don't like the color of my new wheels, what should I do? Refinish? Sell?
I just bought a new set of 19" Alufelgen CS7's with TPMS and Hankook tires and had them mounted a couple of days ago. The only problem is that I'm not in love with the Gunmetal Sport color. I really wanted the regular Gunmetal, or an Anthracite type color. Unfortunately the Gunmetal isn't available at the moment and is back ordered, so I decided to go with the Gunmetal Sport. I do like it in certain light conditions, but generally it's to dark for me. I know the dark wheel are in style and a lot of you love them, but it's not what I was going for.
I would love to sell or trade them, or get them repainted or maybe polished, but I don't want to lose a lot of money doing so. I don't hate them enough to waste a lot ofmoney. At the same time, I would be willing to spend a little to make it to my liking. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks! |

Those look fantastic. If it comes to it, I bet you won't have much of a problem finding someone to buy them.

They look black. Sell them and get what you want.

I know it sucks but your gonna have to bite the bullet and sell them. Something is always gonna seem off with your car because your not really happy with it's appearance.

Thanks for all the comments. Tinting was planned all along and seems to be the overwhelming suggestion. I'm also considering a mild drop, as many have suggested, although I hate messing with the suspension because it's a PIA to install. Both those things will definitely make the car look better, but it won't change much of the issue I have with the color of the wheel. I think it's the lack of contrast between the tire and the rim. I was contemplating if I should add a white "time attack" strip, which would give me a contrast between the edge of the rim and the tire, but it might look a little too "boy racerish".
