anyone do this before? not sure if it will work

according to the calculator, " 2mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 10mm"

in comparison to my 189s with 225s in the front.

seems it'll work just fine, as people add 10-12mm spacers in the front for 189s according to what i've read.
