2 Flats in 1 Month - Stretched Tires?
Hey guys,
I'm running 19x9.5 ET 33 in the front and 19x11 ET 33 on the rear, with 235/30/19 and 265/35/19 tires. Is this too much of a stretch? I just got another flat tire for the second time in the past month. There's not really any rubbing either. What do ya'll think? What could be the cause? |

Ive ran over 60k on stretched tires and never had a flat due to bead seating. It was all from punctures. Now come to think of it ive had more flats from properly fitted tires vs stretched from nails/screws.
Spray some soapy water around the tire to source the leak including the stem. |

the mount must be perfect and sit right otherwise air will leak. there is some sealant/goo that shops use when mountin stretched tires to prevent this. But biggest problem is getting strecthed tires mounted by a shop that has never done that... they will more likely than not break the bead. Or i have even seen first hand that the shop cut up the inside of the tire to be able to stretch it. So be careful... so get it checked out at another shop. its worth the $40.

that spec that you have it set up isnt much of a stretch... perhaps there is a bend in your wheel... in the inner side.

maybe a leak with your valve stem, maybe a puncture. like Tee said, put soapy water on it, and see if any leakage on the rubber.
