Is Technology Hurting Us? Or I am an Incompetent Driver?

Went play tennis at Wong Tai Sin public court. No choice but to park here.

Very narrow driveway, the ramps' wall full of scratch marks.

Didn't want to drive down the ramp, so picked this space. Kinda in a hurry and lazy. Or too attached to the parking sensors? Didn't even turn around and look. Guess I drive like this ever since my cars have parking sensors.

Stupid drain pipes at the most stupid positions. The sensors didn't sense the pipes being so far up.

RESULT: Dented trunk. Two dents, one with hairline paint peel off.

Any bro tried Dent Doctor in Koon Tong? Is he good? Worth to try? Don't want to patch and re-paint, wanna keep the original paint.

Ouch! I can feel the pain

Dent doctor is good if he dent is not at the kink. In your case, may not be very good

Yes, I wonder so too. Right at the kink. Ultra bad luck. If the bumpers got bump I don't care, changing soon anyway.

Still worth to take to Dent Doctor, from their adver. they also do paint job. Or take it to Wah Kee? Any shop you recommend?

I usually use Wah Kee just because I can yell at them......... But never really dealt with Dent Doctor personally. I know Wah Kee sometmes outsource to dent doctors if paint is not damaged......

It's just bad luck mate, I too relied on the sensors too much. For such new car I would go to BMW Sha Tin for paint, Wah Kee's great as In get all my tyres from them.

Ouch sorry to hear about this.

One time I was backing up when something else showed up in my screen instead of the parking sensor. Didn't hear the beeps so I kept on going until I hit the wall. Good thing I was going slow and the wall was flat so no damage occurred.

I would say just take it to BMW.

I'll take it to Dent Doctor today and see what they can do first. They have done works for a lot the dealers including BMW. If no patch and paint, worth a try. Let you guys know how it develops.

Ouch!! Sorry to see this happening to you. That carpark looks nasty.
For me I still do it the old fashioned way and stick my head out the window to reverse park! Never know whats lurking there the sensors cant pick up!

That's what I usually do for Parallel parking, but never for back up to parking spaces. May be I need a total re-train for driving. Or need a rear camera. Too much bad driving habits after driving dog years. I got my drivers' license when I was 16, legal in California.

Anyway, no Dent Doctor bros. Dents right at the kink. Bad spot as reinforcement right at that area. Have to hammer, patch and re-paint the whole lid. Do it later. So if you see someone driving a broken F10, that's me.

Wow, that's very aggressive. Need their front lip to match too. If I got these my wife will definitely notice.

Hoping my wife won't find out the M, now I got an excuse for taking my car to the shop to repair the lid. And after if she found out, I will go "what have the shop done to my car, I only asked them to repair the lid".

Should do what I did:

1) Tell her that the shop will need to take a bit more time to do it right as it is still relatively new.
2) Tell her that you got a loaner F10 550i for the time being.
3) Of course that is no such thing as an F10 loaner. So you have to buy one and put on the M Kit.
4) After couple of months, tell her that the old car can't be fixed and they gave you a new one instead (and you sell the old one)

That's how I got my extra 135i

Good tactic. But I can't switch cars as fast as you bro.

I tried not to park in those public estate car parks. The ramps are designed by idiots. But the F10 is way too big for maneuvering. I used to park in Leighton Center quite a lot with my old 3er. With the F10, I parked there a couple of times. But try to avoid if I can't. I sweat like hell after going up the ramps there.

Really sorry to hear this bro.

Let's wait for the large trunk lip out and hope it's able to cover the dent.

Not really, the dents are way to close to the batch. Unless I change to a CF trunk. No worry bro, that's life. Nothing is invulnerable. Just do a paint job and good as new (almost at least). I am not driving a collector's classic anyway.

It is. May be the paint is slow cured? But really only hairline paint scratch with those dents, no peeling off. So the paint is not bad after all.

Yap, but still on its way. Don't know when it arrives. I wished only the bumper is dented. But those still pipes, don't know why they are there. Trick people? Never park there again and you guys should try to avoid too.
