Installing Ground Control Conversion Kit

I couldn't bring myself to pay almost as much as the kit itself for the installation. I picked up an impact wrench and spring compressor and I'm going to attempt this myself. Anybody local done any suspension upgrades? Anyone want to volunteer to help me out if I screw it up?

dnvrdrvr has the same kit. Should ask her where she did the install, might be better than whoever quoted you (I assume $900?.)

I asked her actually. Best price I was quoted was 750. I believe that's what she paid too.

I don't know that I would have the courage to do myself. Did you try Bimmerhaus or Autosportwerks?

Agree with the other person. Not sure why you are going to use an impact wrench, I'd just stick to ordinary ratchets (and torque wr. with the right specs bolting it all back up.)

All the DIYs, and a guy I talked to at GC, said using a torque wrench on the front upper nuts makes the job so much easier. I didn't call Autosport Werks but Bimmerhaus quoted 1250. I believe that included corner balancing too though.

I'll try to take pictures of the process. It doesn't look too bad. It sounds like the biggest PIA is taking out some of the interior to get at the top of the rears.

Nope - That's very simple.

The hard part is removing the front struts. Follow the spring swap DIY using a floor jack and spring compressor and you should be fine but it takes some work.
