235/40 18 "U gonna blow your tire" WTH?!

Hi, guys.

Happy holidays!!!!

Today I went to local firestone shop with my 235/40 18 blizzak WS-60 and my M3 style wheels (18X8 F/18X9 R) and want mount them.

After they put on the first tire on 18x9, they laugh and said to me: "You gonna blow your tire with this setup if you go over one block."

I did many search that people run 235/40 18 on 18x9 just fine.

Should I go other store or get bigger tires?

Thanks for any inputs.

Tire rack lists the specs for that tire, recommended wheel width is 8-9.5". You're not even on the edge of what the manufacturer recommends, no need to buy new tires.
