Wheel Size Recommendation for Daily Driver

I'm running stock 205/55/16 right now and its about time for a tire change.

I'm considering getting bigger wheels. But I drive about 50 miles/day, plus long 300 mile trips 1-2 times/month. So I dont want to get 19s and have to get new tires every year.

What wheel size would preserve the long threadlife that the 16' stock offer(50k miles/tire)? I was considering 17s or 18s.

Can someone chime in with which size would offer tires with long thread life? Or should I just stick with my stock 16s?

Thanks.

Stick with your stocks, some times a specific size like 18" will offer tires that will last about just as long as your 16" but as for the replacements I'm sure is more cost effective then a 18 or 19" tire, plus if your on the road is easier for you to locate a emergency used tire or new stock 16" tire then it is to locate a 19"
( depending on your driving locations)

Go with a nice square setup and go with all season tires. It looks like you are in Florida and I know you dont really need all seasons but if you go to stores like Discount Tire, they will give you a tread life guarantee on many of their all seasons. Going with a square setup(same width for front and back) will allow you to rotate tires and retain the full warranty. They have sets on there with 50k guarantee on your tread life. As for spares goes, get a bmw spare kit so you dont have to run the run flats.

If you get an 8 inch wide wheel, you can go with a 225 tire and be fine, go with a 225/40/18

If you stick to an all season tire in 225/40R18 or 225/45R17 there are good options for long life and good ride quality.
