1M + M3 GTS wheels?

Are the factory rims from 1M the same spec as the M3 GTS wheels?? My dealer is telling me they won\'t fit on my 1M...

Don't they use the same wheel but just different color?

! Same exact wheel get a new dealer! : )

If you look inside of our wheels you will find two part numbers. One for Silber and one for Schwartz (silver and black). They are the same wheels just painted differently. I still can't believe. How misinformed dealers are. Good luck.

Exact same wheels, diff color.

Is your dealer charging you to swap the wheels?

Find a new dealer. Your current dealer does not fit with your car.

They're now telling me that the offset is 13mm off and the techs won't switch out the rims (to the new 1M tires) due to safety issues...

And on a side-note: if you're guessing who really produces these rims for BMW, you might have a highly likely choice between the following three possibilities (ditto for the E46 M3 CSL rims, where it was no secret): BBS, BBS or BBS...

Check-out the cool 19" BBS CH-R rims (2011) and you'll catch my drift: same genes as the 1M rims.

Get a new dealer, they sound bad. Show them the inside of the wheel that has both part numbers! Maybe theyare not selling genuine BMW gts wheels? I have four boxes in my garage from Turner Motorsports. They say BMW. It is the same wheel! Do you really want these bozos working on your 50k car?

Maybe they put the front one in the rear? Or vice versa? The rears are 10" fronts are 9". Get a ruler.

Go to http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...er/finder.html

Select 1 Series M coupe-> BMW M performance--> All products-->Go
Check the wheel specs.
BMW is showing M3 GTS with same wheels for 1M in the pics. Show this to your dealer.

Thanks guys, I sent them a direct link to the BMW accessories page yet they still say it won't fit and the tech refuses mount the set on the 1M. 'I understand they're the same style, but it doesn't mean they're the same offset'.

He then continued to say no M3 rims will ever fit the 1M.
I think I'm going to go over there tomorrow and get a print out of the wheel spec just to prove my point.

I told them I would take the rims regardless of what they thought and now they say the rims might be 'lost' therefore he may not be able to honor the initial deal (which was to switch out their onhand GTS wheels with my factory 1m rims).

I'm absolutely done with this dealership after this vehicle. The sales manager is completely arrogant and a liar.

I also spoke about purchasing winter tires and rims to be mounted on the vehicle prior to delivery and he made a point to tell me that only BMW dealerships sell the OEM tires that match what's provided from the factory. Apparently I'm an idiot for not knowing that BMW puts a special 'stamp' on their tires and have special ratings that you cannot get at tire rack.

This is completely frustrating...

The email conversation prior to the phone call:

Sales manager:
'I have looked into the wheels situation as we discussed. I know Mike was
hoping he could get the wheels ordered black from factory and mentioned he
may be able to swap them off his M3 if that failed. Unfortunately, those
wheels are not the same size and as such are not a viable option. They just
will not fit. As I had mentioned Wedensday night, my hope is to make you
happy and retain your business. Therefore I am willing to discount the
vehicle 3% as I said.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed as quickly as you can.

Thanks'

Me:
'Good Afternoon Brian,

Contrary to your statement below, the M3 GTS Wheel's Mike Beck offered
in replacment of the factory ones on our 1M do in fact fit on the
vehicle. Please follow the link below:

http://accessories.bmw.com/internet_bmw/servlet/navigateDetails.do?language=en&nscId=1010&localePa th=/COM/en&ts=1327092411999&from=2&fromList=true&nav=4&abs oluteNav=1

The style 359 rims are offered on the M3 competition package which is
also fitted on the 1M from factory. I hope this clarifies any
confusion between the wheel spec.

Please advise on a path forward on this deal.

Thanks'

Sales manager:
'I asked George, the foremen in the shop to be sure before emailing your dad. He looked up offsets for both cars and they are very different. I am sure they have the same style available for both cars but that does not mean they are interchangeable.

Sorry, I am doing my best'

Later on.....

Sales Manager:
'Just talked to George again to be sure. The size (9” x 19”) and the style is the same for both cars but the offset is very different. There is a 13mm discrepancy between the two models. Enough that George is absolutely certain that these wheels will not work on the 1M. '

Nope we had a verbal agreement with the sales manager at the time that they would swap an on-hand set once the vehicle has arrived and also a $3,700 discount off the vehicle. That manager has since left the dealership and now the new manager won't honor the deal and the salesman is turning his back on us saying he wasn't part of that conversation (even though he WAS there).

Challenge them for a bet: if the wheels fit on your 1M, they got to offer you the BMW Performance Seats free of charge (which of course won't fit either according to those clowns).

I find it shocking that the salesman won't step in to defend us at all. We've dealt with him for 8 years and purchased 8 cars and now he's turning his back on us...

what dealership is this? sounds like one I know...
edit: and ask him to send you a copy of the "information" the shop foreman looked up stating that the M3 and 1M uses wildly different offsets.
Although if I were you, I'd go talk to him in person, and ask him how much of an idiot he thinks you are, if he's going to tell you the M3 and 1M uses different offsets, and that BMW has special tires that no one else has. Then tell him that you'll install the rims on your 1M yourself in front of them, so they aren't liable, and if they don't fit, you'll shove them up your own ass, but if they DO fit, tell him to make sure his asshole is nice and lubed up.
What f'in audacity to lie like that. Sounds like the asshole just doesn't want to honor the deal he made with you to swap rims, and is just trying to weasel his way out. Only way to deal with these people is to escalate things.

I'd take the discount. You will then have your stock wheels AND $3k savings. You can buy the black wheels for $2.1k plus shipping, swap your tires over and sell your stock wheels... You'll come out ahead.

If you want to keep pushing with the dealer, I know for a fact they fit because I did what you're doing. I had them swap for black GTS wheels on delivery. Absolutely no issues. I had to pay tho ($1.5k), which is BS, but it is what it is....

Ya,
I know with discount I'll still come out ahead but the fact that they're not honoring what was discussed and severely misinformed, I will persist in getting what I want...

Thanks for the help everyone, will keep you posted on the outcome.. This will be my last BMW from and maybe even BMW....
