Is this a good deal for a 320i in Canada?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2012 320i manual in Mineral Grey Metallic.
It's brand new for $40K Canadian out the door.

Lease $599 for 48months
Finance $594 for 72month

Not sure which to choose?

It has the following options:

- Premium Package:
- Burl Walnut Wood Trim
- Trim highlight Chrome
- Glass Sunroof
- Through Loading System

- Lighting Package:
- Auto Dimming Exterior Mirrors
- Auto Dimming Interior Mirror
- Bi-Xenon Headlights
- Lights Package

- Deletion of Heated Front Seats
- Heated Steering Wheel

Just wanted to know if it's a good deal or not? What I really want is a 328 but the price difference was too high and out of my budget.

At first I was looking at a 2011 Black 328xi manual with sport package with 19K KM for around the same price but the sales rep is telling me to get the F30 320i instead.

Although less power compared to the E90 328xi but it will be almost the same compared to my current E90 325i.

He said the power will be similar to my current car but the fuel saving will be amazing.

Let me know what your thoughts are for the F30 320i.

Much appreciated!

Is it 12,000km/year, or 16,000? Thanks.

I chose 12,000km/year.

If I chose 16,000km/year my cost would be ~$612/month tax included.

Good deals - did you guys pay for Freight/PDI or did you wrap it in the payment? Any trade-in, protection products, etc.?

Also, is there any wiggle room on the protection products (excess wear & use for example)?

The 320 with deletion of heated front seats means that it was part of the initial build of 320s that arrived in Spring 2012... dealers are trying hard to move those. Good choice on the 328xi!

!2000k is awfully few k's. On the configurator 24k would only cost about $35 more per month. Not a big deal.

That's correct. There was a supply issue with the seat heater and some cars got built without them. I leased one of those cars last June and really regret not having heated seats. Cold leatherette on winter mornings sucks. There's a lot of these cars on dealer lots and that's where they should stay unless the prices drop significantly.

Wow, That's what I'm paying for my 320i and you got a lot more car. 60hp, xdrive, auto, and lights package have to be worth 6 or 7 grand. There was no xdrive or Classic when I got mine though.

BMW Canada offered to retrofit seat heaters or provide a $700 credit. It will not be an OEM integration, but strictly an aftermarket installation. Were you not given the choice?

Hate to say it but this is why they are trying to be aggressive on the cars without heated seats...when we got our 320, all the dealers seemed desperate to get rid of these cars (no one wants them.) The salesperson told us they've been given more leeway on these cars...simple supply and demand...

OP - you live in Montreal right? With the humidity and the "wet" cold in the winter, I could never live with out heated seats on leather or leatherette....but that's just me...

Was it truly a supply issue or was it BMW cheaping out???

IMHO they should have never made those cars or delayed production until the problem was resolved....

yea, my brother b!tched them out as soon as we found out (the car had already been plated). They offered a retrofit (button mounted on seat) or cash credit (apparently there was a memo from BMW Canada dated April or May 2012 for this.. and they called these cars "320i Launch Edition").. we turned down both.. and he ended up getting the 328i at a significant discount.

There were also some other decontenting that occured on the 320i compared to the 328i that was not revealed prior to the cars arriving (320s arrived late).. which was a problem for those that were basing their orders from looking at the 328i. For those that have priced these accordingly, i think its a great value.

I wasn't given a choice either but was given a $2000 discount and the $700 credit as compensation. In June all 320i's on dealer lots didn't have heated seats.
