Canadian orders-Update: Production numbers confirmed

Has any fellow Canadians heard of when the order banks will open? I was anticipating March, but have not heard of anything from my sales rep.
I would love to get things rolling so I can finally begin my ED planning and bookings.
Any other Canadian out there that is in the same boat or have heard anything new? Chime in!

As in the order banks are open? I have a deposit down and my whole car speced out and everything. Yes, it's in the dealers computers as an order. However, nothing is in the official BMW system. Pretty much the same situation as all of the US members here and their respective orders.

Good question. I don't know and I think I'm in the same situation as you. But, my understanding is that this should all happen soon as they will be building customer ordered cars starting some time in April. Although, I could be wrong on timing.

Yeah, the only cars that are officially ordered are the first 15 that we're part of the exclusive ED experience.
Just getting antsy as I'm hoping for ED in July. That dosent leave much time for booking flights, hotels, etc.

Was just looking at timing of my last ED. For that, delivery date was June 21 and I was still finalizing the order in April. Received a production number May 1.

I would agree that sort of timing makes it difficult for summer travel planning although, except maybe for airfares, hotel reservations should be cancellable/changeable. We've never had a problem with getting the ED dates we want, but obviously it is not set until they confirm.

I put a deposit down and dealer my says I have an allocation reserved for me. I am planning an ED for the 21st of July and my dealer says the actual order should take place around the end of April for that delivery date.

Hey Karbonphiber, if I remember correctly, you're part of the first 15 exclusive ED right? Wasn't that set for June 23rd? or am I totally off?

End of April?

I'm not sure if I can stand to wait that long to start planning and booking my ED until then.

Yes my apologies that was a typo. Should have typed June not July

June 23 for me too. Perhaps they are planning a Canadian motif for that day or are building the Canadian speced cars in a block.

I'm not in the group of 15.

I will know something is up if they offer poutine with wiener shnitzel and beer that day in the BMW Welt restaurant.

Whereabouts are you in Canada? How did you get a ED delivery date so quickly?

I am out west. I had my order in back in January. I only recently got confirmation of my date though.

I ordered my car two weeks ago and just changed it to ED. I was told that I get a date on tomorrow. I'm hoping for a track day at Spa in late June, which would be epic

For what it's worth, before I changed it to a ED, I was told that the delivery date for my car was set for the end of June. I thought that I'd be looking at a late May or early June ED date, as the car would have to be built much sooner then the perviously quoted end of June delivery date...

Seems like I've got to call my sales rep. I've had a deposit in since last summer and my order has yet to be put through officially to BMW. It's in the dealers ordering system but As far as I know the official order has not been put through.

Nex - I just went into my dealership this evening to sign my ED forms and to confirm vehicle configuration and finishes which will be submitted to BMW Canada tomorrow morning. I also now have my production number.

I'm not surprised you've got your confirmation because you're part of the first 15.
What I'm confused about is how others that are not part of the first 15 getting their confirmation orders and ED dates set already!?
