Question about M235i before I go to dealer to purchase!

Hello guys,

I am about to head to the dealer and look to purchase M235i.
I have read some stuff, but I am not really familiar with car buying process. I have couple of questions. Sorry for novice questions.

1. What would be a good price of M235i 2014 (fully loaded - MSRP is about 52.5k) from dealer? I have skimmed through the pricing thread but still confused with all the finance things. I am seeing around 49k + tax and other fees. Is that the price I should aim?

2. What would be different for M235i 2015? Are they even making it?

3. I will probably have to order it since they won't have it in stock. How long does it take usually to get the car? Dealer told me 6-8 weeks. Is that accurate?

Anything else I need to look for or consider?

Thanks

Are they still taking orders for 2014's?
At this point six-weeks sounds undoable, factory shuts for a week - first of the 2015's may be x-drives?
I think two-thousand off MSRP is good, ask what their documentation fee is.

Think about what your deposits amount is.
Think about your initial first offer - get the invoice price and work from there.

Read the back of any documents to know what refund policies are.
Be specific and document the wheel/tire and top speed of the ordered car.

Sorry I am very new.

If I go to dealer, are they selling 2015 M235i now?

what whee/tire and topspeed do I have to consider? (as in what is good?)

I know that my order is for a 2015, so don't be surprised, but maybe 2014 orders are still available.

Chk out the tire/wheel thread in this 2-series forum. Your choices are: staggered summer tires, runflat summer tires, all-season runflat with car limited to 130mph.

M3eng, what car do you drive now and will you ever track your car.

And what part of the county do you live in?

With that info we can help you with tires.

I drive old Acura car. I am not trading anything so.

And I will never track the car, but I like to go fast and do some launches (I guess little aggressive but nothing like all out). Thats about it. I live in Northern Virginia.

It's getting very late for custom ordering a 2014 and I'd be surprised if you find a dealer that still has an allocation for 2014. You could look at current dealer inventory and see if there is one that fits the bill. In that case, 3.5k below MSRP is a possibility since there is the $1,000 option credit available until end of June (for 2014s).

Besides the xDrive option, there is almost no changes for 2015. Retractable headlight washers are no longer standard but part of the cold weather package which is $700 instead of $550. Bluetooth streaming is now a standalone option (used to be included in tech package) and the oyster interior now comes with black carpets. That's it I think.

Ordering today a 2015 would likely mean a building week in mid July and then you need to add another 8 weeks to that so no, 6-8 weeks from today is definitely not realistic.

What's the money factor (interest rate)? Some dealers try and make up some discounts on the money factor. $700 a month seems high without running numbers, discount isn't bad but I bet the money factor is high.
You need to list all the finance charges, sales tax etc for anyone to be able to tell you if it looks good because all those charges make a big difference in the lease amount.

Is VA one of the few states that require you paying the tax on the full price? That would explain the high payment. Also at 15k/year, residual value is at 60% which means a higher payment too. (12k/y is 62% and 10k/y is 63%)

700 a month seems like $70 a month too high, which would mean they are taking $2,000 somewhere. I ran quick numbers with 6% tax. If that monthly is without tax, then that's crazy. If they rolled everything into the lease, then it would make sense. I roll the acquisition of $725 as well. Some people pay this out of pocket.
