Rain and wind? Really? Worried about what exactly? If they left the windows open, then yes. You should worry. If theyre all closed up, I think you may just be ok. I hear the Blue cars are ok in the rain.
Good luck with your new beast. What color is your interior?

Demand a new car. This is an outrage. Your car should be on the showroom floor with velvet ropes around it and under no circumstances should it EVER be taken outside. Like ever.

I suggest you get a bridge loan and buy it earlier.

German cars are not built to endure rain and/or wind, since Germany has a sunny and moderate climate all year round. Your situation clearly warrants a complimentary 2 day M school, free 100k warranty and maintenance, and at least a $10k discount. I would expect nothing less.

Heavy wind can cause dust particle contamination on the rotors and thus brake failure. It pits the surface and bonds creating a very uneven surface. Less surface contact means less stopping power.
Ceramic brakes do not have this issue, so if the car is going to be outside that long I strongly suggest upgrading the brakes. Either way you need to call the dealership and make them aware of your concerns. They should know that if they pit and bond your brakes or melt your paint they are responsible. Good luck buddy. |

Guys, please take this thread seriously. We are currently experiencing some severe cold weather here, many people have been affected, not to mention the number of cars that are left stranded out in this perfect storm right now.

It's 25 at night up here and 32-38 during the day. My black sapphire is now frozen black.
Icy and not fun. Love to have your 48 degree "arctic blast" |

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever outside. Like ever.
I recently had a private tunnel commissioned from my garage to my work so that I can commute without ever driving my M5 outside. Like ever. Best thing I've ever done. Pricey but so worth it.

Acid rain is actually a problem, even in some areas of CA. A new car that I bought was damaged by acid rain shortly after I bought it (new car bad luck strikes again).
The worst is actually drizzle that beads on your car, and then the sun comes out, with the water drops acting as magnifying glasses resulting in much heat. This causes a chemical reaction resulting in acid which leaves marks in your clearcoat when the drops dry. Sometimes the rain itself is acidic from polution, and sometimes it just mixes with some dry acidic dirt particles that fell on your car separately before the rain. It's quite nasty when this happens. I typically try to keep at least my hood, roof, and top of the trunk clean. Also, I try to wipe drizzle water beads when I can before they dry. Obviously, I can't always baby the car like this. By the way, cars get damaged, and there isn't much you can do about it really... Stones hitting the windshield hard on the highway and leaving marks (or worse - chips and cracks) is another type of unavoidable damage that I hate. If you ever see how they replace windshields, you'll understand why that's not something you want to end up having to do... |
