I thought this thread my help appease my anxiety as I play the waiting game to get a production #/VIN assigned.

If you are still awaiting a production #/VIN, please reply with the following information:
1. Date you first built out the 2013 M5 and placed a deposit with your dealer?
2. Date you last made any changes to that build?
3. In what city/state is your dealer located?

For me:
1. June 9
2. July 2
3. Huntington, WV

I wonder if there is a regional preference as to which dealers have their allocations picked up for production first. Can anyone shed light on this? I know I'm in the boonies, but I still want my M5!

Built and ordered car 6/23. It has been at port awaiting a ship for 1wk now. It has felt more like a month since the build moves along so quickly and ten just stalls at port

Ordered mine the day the order bank opened, it went 153 status 3 days ago, and hopefully will be on a boat headed to me soon.

Placed order/deposit on 07/6/12. Went into production on 07/10/12 and completed on 07/19/12.

I think this also depends upon how many allocations were assigned to your dealer. Mine had 2 slots that nobody had spoken for. They were just waiting to be "sold" so they could enter production so that's why mine happened so fast. I originally ordered a 550 on 6/16 but thought about it and knew I wouldn't be happy with it so went back the following week and ordered the M5. The 550 had already entered production but they said no problem - they would be able to sell it.

My dealer had 2 allocations, and so far the other one is still unfilled. Any dealers out there that can weigh in? Is there anything else my dealer should be doing to speed up the process? Much appreciated!

I ordered 2 Individual items Moonstone metallic and Dark Red Sycamore trim. Anyone in this section ordered any individual options? I'm thinking this is my delay.

Actually, no and in fact my dealer notified me that individual items would prioritize the production of the car in your favor. Mine is triple black with piano black trim being the only individual item.
