Clutch at 45,000 on MT

I just had a answer phone message from the dealer saying my engine drivetrain light was to an "abused" clutch. I drive 100 miles a day with straight roads no real turns no lights. What my thoughts are it seems to me they down want to replace it on the so called ultimate service. Thoughts, experiences etc.

I'm not saying I'm a saint but I really have not abused the cast, no track etc.

Anyone know what a clutch replacement is on the m5?

A couple thousand at least I'm sure, with labor. Maybe take it to another dealer?

I think it's kind of ridiculous to claim abuse. I mean 502lbs/ft of torque on a single clutch for 45,000 miles. That's just normal wear.

Our friends at Morristown. Thanks for the offer I have a good friend at flemmington and I'll place my faith there. Funny through the dealer points me to bmw and bmw say they trust the dealer but the dealer just says the codes mean that warranty is not valid. This wouldn't fly in most businesses. BMW offered I get a second opinion.

Not a fan of Morristown since Open Road took over. Customer service comes second to profits. Flemington is great, been using them for the last four years. I hope they can take care of your issue.

I had my clutch kit (DCT) replaced at 12k mile.
They told me the same thing due to "aggressive driving".
I called BMWNA and also talked to dealer's GM. I simply told them M6 is built to be driven aggressively and must be designed the way to tolerate it otherwise 328 is a perfect car
It took 2-3 months and finally they accepted to replace the clutch kit (Clutch set + Flywheel) at no cost as "Goodwill"...
Your car is under warranty and they have to replace the clutch for free.
If you want to pay, the cost of clutch + flywheel is couple thousands (without labor cost)

Any update? Just curious how things worked out at Flemington. I was there this afternoon having my break-in service done and saw a another M5 (Monte Carlo Blue) in for service.
