Which clutch upgrade to go for?

Hi guys, I'm getting stage 2 turbos for my F10, and eventually meth as well(amongst other things). I just got my F10 recently so I'm quite new to the car but I know with the increased power n torque I need a better clutch.

I've heard nightmare stories on SSP, and Dodson, leading a lot of owners to just detune and run the stock clutch. Anyone have any insight on this? I'm leaning towards Deka as I've not yet read of any bad incidents however theres not many reviews on them at all.

When my time comes to upgrade the clutch I will be going with SSP spec R. I realise there some supposed bad reviews/experiences documented out there but I believe these are a vast minority.

Several people (both companies and individuals) whose opinions I respect recommend the SSP.

SSP are also the recommended choice of my tuner (Velocity Tuning, UK), who will be fitting mine. They have fitted countless SSP's without issue.

Agreed, I’m currently running SSP Spec-R in my F10 M5 with forged engine, it behaves like an OEM clutch so far. I’m not running full power yet, still breaking in the engine, but I’m very satisfied with the clutch pack. I know hard acceleration will reveal the true potential, but many German tuners recommend SSP for high hp builds. I will keep updating this crowd, once the car is seeing huge loads of torque 😁

How many miles have you put on your SSP clutch?

1000 miles so far, too busy at work lol
I will update further, planning some extended road trips in the Austrian mountains, with plenty of shift cycles.

I’m currently getting SSP installed,I would not “risk” using a new company.

I have Deka's Stage 2 going in my M6 this month. Hope to have my indy shop can get my RKautowerks forged engine and Deka clutches done before the end of the month.

I’ve ran SSP stage X for 11 months before they gave out no burnouts no drifting or power sliding. Car makes 950+rwhp. Got clutches warrantied by Kris at ssp. 3 months later bad vibrations replaced 2 flywheels and problem keeps coming back. Received the clutches back with just a few new outer plates and same inner clutch plates didn’t really pay mind car is my daily just need it to work. At this point it’s been such a headache honestly considering going stock. Love the car performance so i will be ordering deka clutches. From my very reliable sources I’ve been told SSP clutches clearance is no good. I asked Kris for help but no response leaves me no choice but to go another route. Was even deciding on going spec Z but no response from Kris. Been throwing so much money at this 10 y/o car not even funny which leads me to my last choice before i give up, deka clutches.

How are you guys getting on with your SSP clutches? I will be ordering my new clutch this month, and still intend to use the SSP Spec R.

I didn’t go with SSP due to the countless issues. Do your homework before ordering. I went with a Project Gamma Clutch pack and haven’t had any issues.

Deka Stage 2. I bought them from Turner Motorsport which offers lifetime exchange/warranty.

So far no issues, but still breaking in the engine, about 500 miles to go. I will report back after unleashing some power 💪
