F10 M5 looks better IMO but this is surely subjective.

Best regards,
south

I think I might agree.....I honestly don't know anymore.

But isn't that the entire problem? Shouldn't a M5 immediately and without question look completely different than a full size sedan? Or at least not look like twins from the profile shot.

The BMW boards would have a field day if AMG did this!

A F01 Alpina B7 mops the floor IMO looks-wise with this particular picture of the new M5 however....apples to apples.

I agree. That's why I just bought a 2012 GT-R instead of the M5!

Why?
Any respective BMW enthusiast would know that one is a 740d and the other a M5. Even between the 5er and 7er you can see that there are areas where one stands out from the other.

Scott26, my question was rather tongue in cheek. I wholeheartedly agree with you that an enthusiast could easily discern the difference in no time. Not so sure about a non-enthusiast....you have to admit that those pictures look quite similar especially given that one is a diesel full size car and the other a motorsport division product.

An identical thread at M5board has discussed this and at least my consensus is that I hope that BMW will release additional 20" wheel options, to further differentiate the Diesel 7 from the Motorsport 5. Make it so please.

P.S. LCI update/Change the side gills

For the F generation cars it's very difficult, even being an enthusiast.
