BIMMERPOST NEWSBMW M5 M Performance Edition Model Coming in Frozen Red, Blue, and White Along with the M3 M Performance Edition models, BMW has also released a teaser video and photos of the new limited BMW M5 M Performance Edition models - for the UK. The centerpiece of each M5 M Performance Edition model is the Frozen (matte) paint, which will include Frozen Blue, Frozen Red, and Frozen White. Only ten units of each color will be produced, for a total of just 30 cars. BMW recently launched the M Performance Parts catalog for the F20 1 series, F30 3 series, and F10 5 series, but has yet to announce its full M Performance catalog for M cars. From the photos, you can see gloss black 20" factory wheels, M Performance black kidney grilles and side gills trim, as well as an alcantara steering wheel and contrast stitching throughout the interior (blue stitching for Frozen Blue, white stitching for Frozen White, and orange/red stitching for Frozen Red). The dash trim is inscribed with a "Number X of 30 M Performance Edition". We also hope the full M Performance Parts catalog will also include upgrades for suspension, brakes, and more exterior and interior dress-up parts. Pricing has just been announced at £95,140, a hefty £22,000 premium over the standard M5 in the UK. UPDATED WITH PHOTOS and PRICING: £95,140 Photos: Here's a preview of what M Performance parts look like on the F10 M5: Share this story |

I'm not a fun either. I like the regular M5. And no to the frozen color as I think of the frozen color cars looking like unwashed cars that have been in out in the desert for sometime and dusty all over.

sorry y'all - this "frozen" nonsense has officially jumped the shark.
I get the "frozen" versions of metallic paints. but "frozen" versions of "flat" paint are just going to look like the car hasn't been fully painted. weaksauce... |

These are likely frozen 'metallic' colors. Where it's a matte clear coat on top of a metallic paint, like the frozen blue metallic M3 shown at the ny autoshow - http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=671943 Looks plenty good to me ![]() |

What I have noticed is that BMW are trying to limit the aftermarket sector. There are now more "oem performance" parts and "special editions" than ever before, smart for them to tap into this makret as there are so many enthusiasts who like to customize their cars, however, I would much go after market and do things myself, thats the fun of modding

The frozen concept is cool and looks good, but it would be foolish to own one. You get one scuff or scratch, you gotta repaint the panel. No waxing, no buffing. I personally like to spend time waxing my car.

Totally agree. People getting the frozen colors would probably get "buyers' remorse" eventually and will be kicking themselves in the pants.

the colors looks very cool, but still would have to go with the reg MCB or sapphire black if I went with a M5. They look way to good in those colors to pass up!
