AW F10 M5 "race car" with rollcage and recaros owned by Norwegian racetrack - M5POST

Wanted to share some pictures of this car with you. The pictures was taken with iphone so sorry for the bad quality.

For the last week we have had this M5 in our shop, but the guys didn't tell me untill it was going to be picked up. The car is owned by the Norwegian racetrack Rudskogen.

I have talked to them about Akrapovic exhaust, but they are focusing on brakes and suspension first.

I don't think I would want to sit in the back with that cage unless I had a helmet on and even then. In a wreck your head would

I wonder how much weight is saved/shaved with full recaros in the M5.
Stock car's enemy is weight. OEM seats are pretty heavy so i reckon close to 200lbs saved.

I don't even want to imagine how much faster the car will be around 4000lbs.

I seriously doubt 400 lbs was shaved out with only four Recaro seats.
The brackets for the seats add quite a bit of weight.
Not to mention the roll cage adds weight as well.

I wonder if this is the beginning of the diet.
I wonder if you stripped it completely down how much you can lost maybe 1000 lbs.
I've heard of one E39 M5 track car losing about 800 lbs of weight.
The car has absolutely no creature comforts to speak of.

Im sure by now they have replaced the oil pump on some of the M5/M6 here in NA.
