Airstrip Attack: E60 M5 with Bolt Ons vs Stock F10 M5

BIMMERPOST once again sponsored the most recent Airstrip Attack, a two day runway shootout race event held at the Coalinga Municipal Airport in Coalinga, California. As before, the event saw some of the most powerful European, Domestic, and Japanese cars from California go head-to-head on a half mile stretch of tarmac. The classes ranged from 400hp+ all the way to 1000hp+

The following race featured a E60 M5 with Bolt Ons vs Stock F10 M5. The E60 M5 had the following modifications: AlphaN-tune (evolve), Power Pulley (agency), airscoops (homemade), air filters (K&N), 4 cans deleted, 2nd cat deleted, installed X-pipe, 91 octane.

Stock f10 still keeps its pace against a fbo e60... amazing.

He had full exhaust, RPI Scoops and tune from what i recall. Everyone was watching that run

The RPI M5 you have listed there was actually tuned by me a few days before the event. Good to see a VF620 taking out an E60 M5!

So the E60 M5 in that video (E60 vs F10) is the same one that was neck-neck with the yellow Gallardo in this video?

Then the RPI one that ran against the VF620 was tuned by Mike Benvo or ESS Tuning?

That's Steve correct in the Black M5? He has an Evolve tune from what he told me, I didn't put this particular vid together, otherwise I'd added that.

m33: I would be too. Was just nice to see the comparison on video.

The F10 is incredibly fast to do that to a modded E60 M5.

I only tuned one of them (it previously had an ESS tune). I also flashed it with the Euro SMG III software.

Here is the pic of the one that I flashed a few days prior (not sure if the two silver/gray ones look exactly the same as I wasn't there):

I also raced the ESS( latest software) tuned one with similar results. Let me find video for you guys.

wow the new M5 is really impressive! I got a ride in one around VIR with a performance center driver and it was passing almost everything on the track!

Hey Everybody!! This is Stephen the owner of the black e60 m5 in the video. Wow, that day was soooo much fun!!! Thanks again to Jason and his crew for the great weekend they put together. Also Thanks to Niko (owner of F10) for hanging around and taking that run with me, I know his wife wanted to leave

I can't wait for the next airstrip event. I'll make sure my beast has a few more ponies next time.

Here are the mods on my car: AlphaN-tune (evolve), Power Pulley (agency), airscoops (homemade LOL), air filters (K&N), 4 cans deleted, 2nd cat deleted, installed X-pipe. I was running on 91' octane that day. More mods to come.
