F10 M5 spec - what do you think? Advice please

Hello everyone
I'm just upgrading my E93 M3 to an M5
Spec I've chosen so far is;
Standard 19" wheels
Monte Carlo blue
Black leather
Sun protection glass
Speed limit identification
I'm not really sure I need much else, as the car is so highly spec'd as standard, however if I am missing something really obvious please feel free to point it out!
Looking forward to posting on this forum
Thanks a lot
Mark

The M5 needs 20" (forged) wheels, OEM or after market. The 19" standard are wheels are too bland IMO.
You might also want to consider an audio upgrade: pick the Harman Kardon soundsystem (600w) and you'll be fine. Plus the Led-lights. Every run of the mill Bimmer will have LEDs within a few years. I think you'll regret it if you pass.

I stopped reading at 19 inch wheels. Then I jumped off the roof.

Mate I think you've "chosen" some 3/50 (?) options available for this car (even then 19" inch are standard) do get LED headlights, if I had to choose one option that would be it. Much depends on $ of course

I agree with the others, spring for the 20" wheels. The 343M's fit the style of the M5 very well.

I would skip the Sun Protection Glass. It's rubbish IMO. If you want sun protection get an aftermarket tint. It costs less and provides better performance.

I do think you should have 20" wheels, HUD, Comfort Access, HarMan Kardon Sound, Comfort seats with heating and ventilation, and if you parallel park then top and surround view cameras.

Nice to have are B&O, Full leather, LED lights, power boot.

Looking at the UK configurator, wow HUD is standard. Ok, so here's what I'd recommend:

- The M Multi-function seats that the US gets standard, even if you don't get them with ventilation. They're amazing. At least compare the two at a dealer before you submit your order.
- 20" 343M wheels are a must.
- Same goes for Bluetooth (that isn't standard over there??)
- At least Harmon Kardon if not B&O. The base stereo I'm told is just terrible, so bad that it's not even available in the US; we get Harmon Kardon standard, which really impressed me. B&O didn't make a discernible difference to me except with music that had lots of complex vocals and/or "natural" instruments (classical, jazz, acoustic, etc), but even then I'm not sure it's worth what BMW wants.
- Split fold-down rear seats are handy. I never would've gotten them in my M3 but the E92 came with it standard, and it's turned out to be a godsend.
- Ditto for the rear-view camera. Huge help for getting into tighter spaces without having to "park by touch". I bought a third-party camera kit for the E92 after my previous car spoiled me.
- You might also consider full leather to get the leather dash and upper door panel treatment, although WOW it's over £5000 there! Maybe not then, lol.
- Why speed limit identification, especially if it costs £250?

Yep, they're called m-function seats over here and are £875. HUD is standard though

soft close, operating boot-lid, surrond view camers, full leather, piano black trim - nice options to have

split fold-down seats, rear camera, hud, bluetooth - standard here
speed limit is useless though, sometimes in 30mph zone it shows me 60!
would be useful, if i would be able to blame it when i am speeding

Comfort access adds opening without using the key.

Personally I would STRONGLY recommend an audio upgrade- B&O isn't worth the dosh but the HK system is. Surround view in my view is a must have.

20s nice also
Sun protect glass is worth it just NOT the comfort windscreen which scratches like hell.

The M seats are a must have IMO they are awesome.

Isn't the HK the standard radio? Here the only avail upgrade is B&O which is immensely worth it.
