Additional BMW Individual special paint finishes for the BMW M5 and BMW M6.

With the aim of combining outstanding dynamics with ultra-exclusive looks, additional variants have been added to the selection of BMW Individual special paint finishes available for the most powerful high-performance sports cars built by BMW M GmbH. Joining the range are Frozen Black metallic, Frozen Blue metallic, Frozen Red metallic and Frozen Brilliant White metallic, which can all be ordered for the BMW M5, BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Convertible and BMW M6 Gran Coupe. In addition, the BMW Individual special paint finish Frozen Cashmere Silver metallic is available for all model variants of the BMW M6.

These colors (black, red, blue, white) have been available from BMW individual for a year now. Some guys on this board have frozen black, frozen blue and frozen white.

I wonder what's new? Does this mean they will discount these colors to $3500 (like frozen bronze) as opposed to $5000 (as they have been for past year via Individual)?

I believe that's what this announcement is about. They will become 'standard' Individual colors available and no longer be special order colors.

Great. I would love to see increased purchase of frozen paints. It will help dispel the belief that these are hard to take care of.

the from paints are harder to take care of than regular paint no question. how much more is the debate, in my mind not that much more but there are certain things you need to be cautious about. also get a bumper respray and it matching is more difficult.

personally I don't like the frozen colours, a car should shine.

To each his own...
But I've seen frozen colors at the dealer and wasn't impressed.
And my wife informed me not to even think about it. Lol

Machine polishing will change the appearance. Opti-coat Pro would be your best bet to act as a sacrificial layer, but it might add gloss to the appearance.

Frozen white has always been frozen brilliant white metallic.... In fact all frozen colors are the metallics with a satin topcoat. Go look at any one up close. None of the frozen colors are a true matte.

Oh yeah some of them look like shit too... Here's a frozen imperial blue at the Welt...

I think these are easy to take care of but have the possibility of shinying up over time. Truth is, they just haven't been out in the wild long enough to know for sure.
