M5 B Pillar Mod

I never understood why they used that fake plastic like leather in certain areas of the M5.. especially the B pillars. My AMG's have alcantara B pillars.. so should M.

I think they give the interior a slight upgrade. Defiantly looks better than before, IMO. Now I want to wrap the bottom of the dash in black leather.

Where did you get this done or did you do it yourself? I like this.

The other thing I would have liked is for all the pillars to be leather. In the 7 series individual models, the A, B and C pillar are trimmed in leather and so is the vertically curved rim of the headliner.

I ordered a set of left and right B pillars and sourced an upholster to wrap them in BMW OEM black alcantara.

You can easily do the swap yourself, but I had my local shop do it for me. They had to do something else anyways.

And where did you source the OEM Alcantara?

51439173438 COVER, B-COLUMN BOTTOM RIGHT - SCHWARZ $37.43

Those are the part numbers for the bottom b pillar covers.

The upholster actually sourced the fabric for me. I looked just a second ago, but couldn't find the part number for anthracite alcantara.

I dont think that matching black alcantara is difficult as long as you are using good quality material.

If you want, I can refer you to where I got mine done. If you need any help let me know.

I think I paid about $120 per side. Not an expensive mod.. though IMO well worth the dollars.

+1. Gorgeous, restrained, classy and very elegant. New B-pillar trim is the icing on that cake. Great contrast. I have only seen the anthracite alcantara headlining in real life (on one of the M5 demos I borrowed), and I wasn't sold on it, however, the individual version in your pictures looks so much better.

Very nicely done.

Where does one find the individual part catalogue such as the illustration you shared?

Individual WILL NOT post-wrap any part in leather which contains an airbag (i.e. obviously, this logic does not extend to BMW's OEM leather upper dashes which they've obviously already tested for airbag functionality, etc.).

Nicest M5 interior I've seen. Now that you pointed it out, it bothers me too lol

avlnch do you reckon the upholsterer can also trim the roof handles in leather or alcantara?
