Official IMPERIAL BLUE METALLIC F10 M5 Photo Thread
We are proud to show you these amazing photos of the most recent project we've built a set of wheels for, an Imperial Blue F10 M5 in Europe!
Huge thank you to M5Post member M-bitious for choosing us as his wheel provider and allowing us to build him this set of wheels. We are extremely happy with the way the wheels look on his F10 M5 and how the car looks with the mods he's done so far! The vehicle is lowered and has the Black Grills/Gills on but he plans to continue modding as more mods become available! Also want to thank Christiaan Ploeger for these amazing photos, he's one of the best in Europe and now we know why he shoots for GTSpirit! Let us know what you think, we're working on a few other projects now and can't wait to share them with you all! Official IMPERIAL BLUE METALLIC F10 M5 Photo Thread
took home the new 2012 m5 a few days ago.
nothing too unique on the options so i didnt see the need to show pics of every inch of the interior... 2012 imperial blue on black full merino leather.(got 5k off and 3m, rubber matts and trunk matt thrown in) aluminum trim exectutive package night vision. imperial blue really looks amazing. at night it looks basicly black until you get up close and the blue highlights glisten. gorgeous. nice to see they retained alot of the "edgyness" of the 60 m5, which i loved. the throttle response is much quicker than the cls63, which i also have but will be selling, now that i have a car that drives much nicer. another area where the m5 destroys the amg is the transmission. the dual clutch is awesome! instant gear changes. although i havent gone WOT yet. still in break in mode (is it as crazy as the e60?) makes the driving experience so much more direct and involving compared to the cls63, which even though has paddle shifters, they're basicly useless because of the huge delay after you initiate a shift commad. the interior is an amazing. sooo comfortable to sit in. long drives are a pleasure. although the massage function is pretty modest. at times its hard to tell if its even on... the only thing i noticed was the aluminum trim doesnt appear to be real aluminum as was in the e60 m5. i wasnt aware of this. but given the quality of everything else, ist not a big deal. but just in case anyone was planning on ordering the aluminum trim. the night vision feature rocks! by comparison to mercedes' version. they use different technologies, from what ive read, and the pedestrian detection is so cool. as it detects a person, they turn to a bright yellow! to stand out from the background. it appears to actually be a heat seeking camera, so the hotter something is the lighter it appears. whereas mercedes just looks like your watching a black & white monitor. and i never noticed any pedistrian detection, although it was supposed to have it. it would be helpful if there was also an audible alert when a pedistrian is detected. the new idrive is ridiculous. im not sure, but i think you may actually be able to see into space with this thing. makes mercedes command system look like the first generation gamboy. cant wait to get the break in period over and the first mod will likely be an exhaust. which already sounds awesome. (but i need it just a little louder) oh, and i also have corner markers, side grilles and kidney grilles on order from nate at IND. all in Imperial Blue. |

Sure looks a lot like the Carbon Metallic F10 535 I recently sold. Beautiful color but gets dirty just looking at it.

I was initially hesitant about Imperial Blue, but after 6 months I love it more everyday. I get serious compliments on the car and the color, but yes, like Black, it gets dirty quickly!

Official IMPERIAL BLUE METALLIC F10 M5 Photo Thread
a couple i just finished from a little shoot i did yesterday. the IND mods are subtle(corner reflectors, side gills, and kidney grilles, all in imperial blue.
id be interested to get some comments. im not a professional just a hobbyist. so i may have went a little overboard on some of the processing. pics were taken with a Nikon D600, and Nikkor 17-35mm 2.8 lens. |

I would encourage you to go for full leather if you get Silverstone. It just looks a lot more finished.

Silverstone is basically a cream color then? My concern is that it's light gray -- I prefer the color to be more towards cream than gray. Thanks for the response. |

I like cream myself which is why I ordered Full Individual Platinum. Here's how BMW light colored leathers look: Opal White = White Platinum = Cream (Think double whipping cream) Silk Gray = Light Gray but a little warmer than silverstone Silverstone = Light gray but with a colder gamma. To be honest the difference between silk gray and silverstone is quite subtle. I think the Silk Gray looks richer than the Silverstone. However both grays look even more gray if you have tinted windows. You should go sit inside the cars that have these leathers and have a look. I was able to find a dealer which had Opal White, Silverstone and Platinum on the same floor, and the color differences as highlighted above are striking. I also saw Silk Gray on a car in another dealership.

This color compared to Azurite black
I was looking at the color swatches at the dealership both inside and in the sun and this color and Azurite black looked awfully similar. Those blue flakes in the AZ black really shine in the sun. Granted I was just looking at swatches. But can anyone comment on how these two really compare in person?
In the AZ black picture thread some of those look really blue. |

Difference between Imperial and Azurite!
Quote:
Azurite Black's S34 case if different has more layers of paint, but double or triple scales, also contains Xirallic, but looks more reflective because of those extra layers of more, because it is a color Individual. The 2 are incredible, but I recommend if you want to pay extra for a color Single purchase is unique Azurite Black, imperial Blue is also very good. Code paints example: First Generation 475 Black Sapphire three numbers Second Generation A52 Space Gray letter A + two numbers 52 Third Generation A89 Imperial Blue letter A + two numbers 89 + Brilliant effect Quarter Generation B38 Midnight Blue letter B + two numbers 38 Fifth Generation B90 Sophisto/Dark Graphite 2 letter B + two numbers 90 Bri Ect Individual Azurite Black letter S much layers and layers + two numbers 34 This I have studied nearly 2 years.! thanks to that I am already on the subject. The practice makes you master!! It was hard but I succeeded. Only fans will know this. Last edited by Pure; 09-01-2013 at 07:10 AM.. |
