I'm confirmed on the Don Juan, arrival into Brunswick today. I'm doing a pickup at the Performance Center. I pinged my dealer late last week and he didn't know whether they would fix the oil pump at the port or at the PC. He said until the car was unloaded and taken in by the port, he wouldn't know. I tracked the boat online and apparently it got to Brunswick yesterday, and is due to depart there today for Charleston. But the WW website doesn't show that the car has been unloaded yet.

I called ED number and confirmed car dropped off yesterday at Brunswick. They also confirmed that car will be repaired at VPC. They could not give me specifics as to when car will be ready for shipment out to dealer. I was told to call back Wed and check in then.

I'm on the DJ as well. My dealer has a M6 convertible that has been sitting at port waiting for an oil pump for nearly two weeks. I hope we don't encounter the same fate.

I was on Don Juan as well and it looks like the cars have all been dropped at the port pre-customs. So BMW NJ called and said my pump and 1200 mile service would be done at the VDC. No info on where my pump is or when it may be installed. and my CA claims to know nothing. A waiting game now I guess..

I just got off the phone with BMW ED and was told car has cleared customs and is now at the VPC. Also there has been a work order generated for the oil pump repair for today.
Sounds good so far, hopefully other Don Juan guys in the same boat. Not bad for the car arriving on the 15th, clearing customs in two days, and now in the VPC for repair. |

I had to bug my useless CA relentlessly to finally get the basics of my situation. Car dropped Brunswick 10/15, admitted to VDC 10/18 (today) and scheduled for dealer arrival 10/26, with the interim time presumably being spent on oil pump repair and 1200 mile service, unless of course they need to repair in-transit damage . What a cluster this is. When the car is electronically tracked on the boat it's flawless. Turn it over to real people who have already made their money off me and it's useless. My special BMW NA rep is of no more use. It's basically an information vacuum. This is surprising given the relatively small number of cars affected and the fact that each pump is specifically VIN designated. They should be able to provide real-time status on oil pump location and timing of repair to anyone. Priceless...

Is the 10/26 pickup date confirmed with your dealer, or are you in limbo right now? |

The M5 speaks...
I was on the Don Juan as well... the WW shipping website knew more than my service adviser. Oh well... it is what it is.
The best was an email I got today from BMWTeleservice... I got a nice laugh out of the it. I had done the ED program and driven the car about 700 miles in Germany. I guess when the VPC powered up the car, it sent an over-the-air message saying that it's ready for the 1200 mile service, and my dealer at home is ready to help me with this service. Even the car knows more about its situation than my service adviser. But I'm taking all this as good progress... I'm doing pickup at the PDC so hopefully it'll be a couple of weeks at most before I finally get the car back. |

So I would like to leverage your delivery "timeline" to estimate my delivery timeline. It would definitely help me with scheduling my trip (and work commitments)! If you don't mind, can you PM me your pick up date once its confirmed? Thanks. |

Again I just called ED 800 number, got good info (very helpful people)
VPC completion 10/21 and car pickup 10/23 with projected delivery to ATL 10/24. So 10/15 Port to 10/24 ATL not bad including the oil pump repair. I will still ask for some free stuff, maybe another keychain or what the hell, a day of M school for my worries. Then passport transport picking her up to bring her home to TX. My next door neighbor when the beast arrives who always tries to keep up with my toys. |

Thanks, the 888-932-0831 number was a winner.
Oil pump to be replaced at the VPC and ETA for delivery at my BMW dealer in Texas is 8/29. Time goes so slow while waiting. |

Follow up with don juaners.
Any updates? My car was to be released on 10/21 and shipped down the street to ATL on 10/23-24. Not happening. I inquired yesterday and was told by CA and ED dept, nope car not repaired yet. AWESOME! |
