Video of the Hamann exhaust system for the F10 M5. Together with its ECU software tune, it bumps the M5's power to 720hp and 900Nm (664 lb/ft) of torque.

Proper music. Hamann systems are made by Supersprint, if I'm not mistaken.

That V8 is also naturally aspirated. The sounds are COMPLETELY different. I do agree that the Mann exhaust is lacking some umph.

You know for some reason it seems to me they've done all they could to make the current M5 V8 sound like the previous M5 V10.
This new V8 sounds nothing like a usual high-performance V8, it's got a little howl that ressembles the one heard in the previous V10. Can someone confirm that I'm not the only one noticing this?

Also, I HOOOPE my theory translates into the I6 downgrade in the M3/M4...

Confirm??man listen on you tube they sound nothing alike!! This noise is muted, a bit farty, and bland.

It sounds different due to the turbos. Turbos act like a baffle. If you listen to a 4.4L non turbo they sound much more like a V8. The thing I like about the new motor is the fact its not just a v8 but a high revving v8 and theres a little bit less weight on the front end.
