Dealership Visit Today - M5 vs 650GC
Dealership visit today. I've been leaning toward the M5, but wanted to check out the proportions of the 6GC (for possible M6GC order). The lines and interior of the GC are beautiful, but the car is so long. Despite the length, rear passenger head room is rather limited. I left still liking the M5 more.
I asked about M6GC and 2014 M5 (LCI) production dates. While he didn't have the actual ordering information (or lease MF, residual, etc.), he implied M6GC production is happening and an order can be placed. The 2014 M5 will begin in July. My current lease ends at the end of June, but I think I'm going to hold off to get the M5 with LCI changes. Traditionally, what can I expect with a fresh LCI regarding lease numbers?

Agree with your observations. M5 is a more practical car, M6 is more sexy and exclusive. Most non car enthusiast people won't be able to tell diff between an M5 and a 50k 528i M-Sport.

Do you know if there will be a pause in the ability to place an order just before the 2014 production? What I mean is, I want to make certain my order is a 2014.
I'll be addressing this with my dealer, but what will be the earliest I can place an order to get a 2014 production?

On the other hand those slow 528i cars help us look stealth to the cops

M5 over 6GC for me as well.
GC is sitting position doesn't feel as comfortable as the M5. It's too low for my height 6ft. M5 is more practical. Plus I like the sleeper factor of the M5 among the regular 5s. 6GC is all for exclusivity IMO if that's what you are looking far. |

Came close of getting a 650GC before my sales guy told me I was crazy to get one because it was simply an overpriced fully loaded 550 (which I had at the time). Why pay $30K more, although the GC does have better seating material , LED headlight, etc.

I think the M5 has better seats because North American spec M6GCs don't get comfort seats.

Is the 650GC available?
I thought only 640GC available right now. Who in their right mind would pay >100k for an underpowered 6 cylinder power plant no matter how nice the lines are?

I believe both the 650i and 650xi GC are available in the states right now.
Only 650xi is available in Canada here, and it has been available for a few month now. |
