Question about 2013
Ok so I finally bought my first M5 after leasing 3 535's. I'm totally pumped but was a bit bummed when I found out about the new 2014 LCI. I placed my order end of March and should have it within 2 weeks as its on the boat. Anyone out there in my situation? If so what are your thoughts and feelings about getting a 2013 just before the 14's come out?

First, congrats. Heck of a car vs. the 3er.
Dude, enjoy the car and don't sweat any of the '14 BS. From what I understand, everything that you could have waited for will cost $, and the "performance enhancements" are not proven yet. You'll be grinning from ear to ear when you drive it, regardless of the MY.

I ordered my M5 a couple of weeks before the competition package was announced as well, but would not have spent the $7,500 for the suspension upgrades and only 15 hp.

I just got my 2013 M5 2 weeks ago, Im in Heaven and I haven’t even broken it in fully yet. ZERO regrets, I wouldn’t opt to get the Competition package anyhow, not for another $7300. All in with guzzler and sales tax plus ED and other discounts, I paid $92.2k all in with executive package, good luck getting that on a 2014 edition. Originally it bothered me little that they added the crease to the bumper near the kidneys, so I was elated when the pics showed up w/o them. I also believe the LED tail lights and grill will be interchangeable. Add in squared LED angel eyes as an option only and aesthetically it will essentially be the same car. Now if you are a hardcore driver, then yes, maybe the Competition package would piss me off, but I for one am 100% satisfied. I would not have lasted until September/October anyhow. Good luck awaiting redelivery though, it SUCKS!
On a side note, the selfish part of me hopes they eliminate Sakhir Orange as an interior color for 2014.

Anyways the 2014 isn't worth the upgrade for me. There's not much difference and you pay a lot more.

Thanks for the input guys. There is no way I can wait until sep for the 14. Also after reviewing it I think the new wheels suck and don't do the car justice. I got the 20's with the exec package. Changed the kidney grills, side grills and rear badge out for black. As far as the comp package I have a good friend here on Long Island that tunes exotic cars. He said he will safely have my car pushing 700 hp once Im ready for it. Lol. Blows 15hp for $7500 out of the water. Lol. Thanks again for the support and congrats to all that just recently received their cars. I look forward to future communication with you all on this forum.
