We have proof already. OP posted the pic of his manual. They are adjustable backrest width buttons which is BMW speak for adjustable bolsters.

Beautiful! This is what I was worried about, as soon as I see pics of member's LCI M5s, I would be salivating with the idea of trading up. Looks like my worries are confirmed!
Adjustable side bolsters are a big plus as well. How's the suspension firmness? and how does the steering feel to you? Is it very direct and responsive? Congrats!!! |

WHOA WHOA WHOA annd WHOA!!
HOLD THE F'ING TRAIN!!! THOSE ARE SIDE BOLSTER BUTTONS!!! CURSE YOU BMW GODS!!!!!!!!!!! Dude AWESOME! You may be the very first person with adjustable side bolster buttons on the F10 M5! Well, if they are in fact them, I'm glad that BMW FINALLY LISTENED!!! Maybe we all had something to do with this after our MASSIVE campaign last year to find an answer as to why they were not included. This doesn't piss me off, but rather gives me hope. OP you have to report to us on how they feel. Side Bolster AWESOMENESS aside, I can really tell the difference in ride height with the new Comp Pack Springs. ME WANT! Damn, you gotta good looking car man!

Congrats on your awesome birthday toy!
Besides the side bolsters, you're also the first one that can confirm how the front turn signals light up with the new LED lighting package. When you turn on the front turn signal do the eyebrows light up with an amber strip? If you ever do have the time shooting two quick smart phone videos with the turn signals engaged, one from the front and one from the rear would truly be awesome. We've been searching the web for this for a while and have been unable to find anything. |

Yes, they are indeed side bolster buttons! However, the "feel" is entirely different from my E60. Those side bolsters were definitely mechanical. These seem more like pneumatic bolsters. Still, they're bolsters!
And I discovered you can change ambient lighting from "Classic" (BMW orange) to something called "Mode Modern." It's a bluish-white, similar to the white behind the speedometer/tach. It's nice, but much dimmer than regular orange, even when on full brightness. I took a quick nighttime spin around the neighborhood and made the comment that the ride is quite comfortable. Not harsh or jarring at all. I was in sport on everything if I recall. I expected something more firm in sport actually. Of course, I'll have to try it out at highway speeds. Steering felt spot on, but again it was a quick spin and I'm only comparing it to my E60 550i Sport... That steering required more heft. |

Oh, and the turn signals are as shown in the video. The eyebrow is white with no signal. With signal, it flashes between amber and off. LED headlights are super crisp.

Looks awesome!
I requested an allocation for my dealer's first available MY2014 back in May. Had I not gone with Individual options (Full Individual Nutmeg interior), production would have taken place in Week 29 or 30 (mid to late July). I'm now confirmed for Week 37 (mid September). Your awesome pics are not helping with the wait.

Epic M5, congrats!
I'm very curious about the sound of the exhaust, can you post a sound clip? That would be awesome.
