HAHA yes, cool cop indeed. I actually blew right by him while he was driving, I didn't even see him. He didn't have me on radar but Im sure he could have wrote me a ticket for being "paced" which i've gotten before.

100 in a 60 a couple yrs ago in my Z06. Got a big speeding ticket and some points off license. Then after giving me the ticket he started asking me questions about my car.

So the police officer admired your car and then gave you complements after the ticket!! Shame on him!! He should've understood then how hard it was to drive slowly in 7000cc car!! I know that car, My partner has it and takes it to the track pretty much every other weekend!! Yet comes onky in manual!! Or should I say it did!! |

I like that answer. That would probably put you somewhere between 70 & 80 mph from zero and from freeway speeds 5 seconds of full throttle would put you well over 100 so you're not far off.

If I'm going as fast as I usually go, I don't bother pulling over... there is absolutely no way for anyone to catch me. I just pull off and ditch when he can't see me anymore.
Cop cars can't do anything when you pass them at 140 - 180mph; unless some how there's already a bird in the air and they spot you as he calls it in. I usually immediately open my sunroof and start looking for choppers in the area as I'm evading - they run lights off sometimes and follow to direct ground units to location, so look for their flashing alert lights in the sky - not the spotlights. If I am going past 100Mph and I see a cop, I just gun it further and ditch the area ASAP - none of the regular patrol cars / highway patrol cars can do anything about us now a days; heheh. Stupidest mistake I did once was pull over when a CHP lit me up as me and a bike I was playing with passed him at 175Mph, bike kept going, I pulled over and waited. CHP asked me how fast I was going because he was going 110Mph and we were pulling on him "ridiculously" fast, told him I didnt know, he said I better just pay the ticket because otherwise he would tell the judge if I tried to fight it. So I paid the ticket. Just another reminder to not be nice and pull over when you are going that fast. I always think the cop will be cooler because I pull over and wait for him, but that rarely happens -- sooooooooooooo........ BYE.

You make me feel we are living in the movies!! R u serious? If a cop manages to catch you after you tried to ditch, it won't be nice especially when you are 20-30 mph more than him and he's already 120-130!! Goodness you have some nerve!! |

So I wouldn't be so quick to judge others on their habits of driving. I always say that as long as you are not endangering other people on the road, it's all good. If you are the only soul on a deserted road at 2am and you want to do 200mph and run the risk of killing just yourself, then it's all good in my opinion.

Don't remember my highest speeding ticket, but probably 80 in a 65 zone. I did pass a CHP car at 165+ once about 20 years ago. It was 2 AM on a deserted 5 lane highway and he did not even bother to turn on his lights.

Yeah I don't know. Maybe things have changed. I almost feel like I'm in car enthusiast prison living here on the East Coast now. But I'm determined to make the best of it. I just can't wait for Winter to be over. I want to organize some events and runs up and down the East Coast this year. I'll keep you posted.
