These look good. Were these from German or UK stock?
I don't think they've been released yet in the USA. I am waiting too.

May as well be, no doubt easier than taking the interior apart to get to the part no. as per the avlnch thread

I have the UK price, but that's probably meaningless to you - perhaps Stealth can provide the US price if that helps? Unfortunately not, you need a another accessory that's about 12 foot long to fit these to! UK stock so your CF tips can't be far behind, hopefully. 2 weeks until a courtesy car is available (getting the 'screw' in the tail light fixed at the same time). Looking forward to having them on the car. |

They will not fit the standard exhaust as they come - designed for Akrapovic or M Performance exhaust, so you'll need exhaust with similar tail pipes to make these work. |

Fitted yesterday. I was concerned that the carbon tips may look a little too aggressive for Moonstone, however, IMO, they've turned out just right.
I asked for my tips to be centred and set 'inwards' & my BMW dealership have done a great job in doing just that. These are a great upgrade for anyone with an Akrapovic exhaust (or something similar these can be fitted to). |

Thanks Dude!
The only problem I have now is waiting for the ECU to adjust to the Akra; no CEL errors as I haven't gone for DPs, but uneven idle, considerable vibration through seats, steering & floor at idle, occasionally holding on to gears at times (engine dynamics in efficient setting). And I'm surprised at how noticeable the 55% reduction in backpressure is - in gentle driving I'm finding the car a lot smoother more urgent when accelerating - it's like having the engine dynamics in a sport plus (i.e. any feeling of hesitancy/lag removed) but without any of the slight 'throttle-nervousness' you can get. I'm planning on running in gently, although perhaps I should just go out and rev the s*** out of it (it is very tempting)? |

Hi Neil,
I went M Perf to keep the warranty intact (I don't believe there's anything different apart from the tips). Your previous comments about it being not sufficient enough an upgrade over CP exhaust are ringing in my ears now (although they are very different from each other in pitch, aggressiveness, etc) If, however, you are interested, my dealership is keen to repeat the same deal I got (assuming you can't beat it elsewhere). |

Superb. Is the M logo visible or is it hidden because of the recess?
How do you feel about the aesthetics of the setup? I'm still waiting for these tips to be released in the US. Currently they are in stock in the US but there's a hold on them.

Aesthetically, IMO the M Perf CF looks more authentic than the CF on the Akra tips (I'm sure there is a difference in CF weave between these two). The M Perf tips look very high quality and match the rest of the car. Little details like how the titanium protrudes from CF sleeve, which itself looks like it's floating around the titanium tip, make a difference. I think you'll appreciate these small details when they arrive. And a slight correction on how these turned up so quickly for me - they were not UK stock as such, another dealership had previous ordered both titanium & CF tips for a customer (who went titanium) and the CF were, hence, spare in the UK. Are the US ones held up at customs or is there some sort of type approval to do (forgive my ignorance)? |

Agreed the differences (aural & performance) are very subtle, although I have not yet tried/compared WOT. Another thing worth mentioning is that the Akra exhaust I previous heard had a higher pitch/sweeter or more exotic sound (IMO) then my M Perf video. Mine has yet to 'carbon-up'. http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=952248 And to provide some context, in comparison to CP, I would say that the M Perf is louder at idle, but more quiet under light/trailing throttle (so when you move from standstill or when cruising, zero drone). It definitely loses the aggressive edge of the CP exhaust under part throttle application, which to my ears sound closer to the guttural sound you get from the likes of Jag XF-R. M Perf produces a higher frequency sound; the odd thing being that I find it ever so slightly intrusive at idle, but this may go away. That's probably a terrible explanation, but the best I can come up with. Bottom line is that M Perf needs careful consideration if your moving from a CP exhaust. |

Akrapovic tips w/ Silverstone for comparison.
I love my exhaust; increase in throttle response is definitely noticeable.

Glad to hear I'm not imagining the increased throttle response! |
