I'm having trouble getting onto the BMW website, but I thought I remembered that the CCBs were not covered by the scheduled maintenance. I dug up an old article that I wrote back in 2012 when I was freelancing as an automotive journalist and here is the screen shot that I had.
I wonder if they are now saying that they are covered because they are not "scheduled" to be replaced in the first 4 years/50,000 miles.

My SA (who heads the local CCA chapter and tracks a lot) says they will be covered. I am a bit skeptical if they prove "excessive" use from track driving, but who knows. If covered, I would spec them without hesitation. Well, actually I would spec them regardless. They are awesome

Tracked the M5 last week and kept DSC on during first session. The CCBs we smoking after 20 minutes from trying to keep the car stable. Won't get 15-20 track days out of the CCBs like that. MDM mode was better (brakes weren't smoking). Never turned DSC off completely.

My guess is that it will come down to the relationship the person has with the service adviser and dealership.

No it looks like they priced it into the option price.
