Did you keep your heat shields after installing downpipes?
I installed my RPi downpipes and my shop said they are the only ones they've installed that they were able to actually re-install the stock heatshield in the engine bay with the DP's installed.
All the other brands they installed wouldn't fit the heatshields back in and people run the risk of melting the plastic, etc in there.

I think the heat shield is important. The DME Computers are close to the downpipes and the downpipes get extremely hot. Like over 700 degrees I think.

All aftermarket downpipes allow you to use oem heatshields

I was just really happy my RPi's didnt have the issue because I didn't even know it COULD have been an issue beforehand or I wouldn't have just bought blindly! LOL!

+1 I have the AMS catted downpipes and there was no issue with resinstalling the heat shield. Could they have meant the O2 sensors? I bought the elongated Bosch sensors and had those installed at the time of the downpipes because I had heard that the stock O2 sensors were too short for the placement of the bungs on the AMS catted downpipes. |

The factory heat shield fits perfect.
I have instaleld GT Haus (Meisterschaft) catless downpipes. I have never heard of any issue with the heat shields. Those NEED to be re-installed |

How much difference did the car react with and without downpipes?? Still can't figure out if its worth getting the CEL light for it.

I would like to see anyones dyno sheets for with and without catatlytic convertors. I see no power gains to be made without the correct engine software to re-map for this mod. Others may disagree with me but I dont see any benefit. No proper tune means no gains to be made.

There have been several before/after dynos previously posted with no other mods -- they equate about 50rwhp gain
