Report: Alfa Romeo Giulia Delayed Due to Failed Crash Tests
Awe man!
http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...d-crash-tests/ When we found out about the Alfa Romeo Giulia's six-month delay back in November, the reasons didn't seem too critical: We reported that Alfa needed the extra time to refine some safety and ride characteristics. But a new report claims something much more serious is causing the Giulia delays. Automotive News cites an unnamed industry supplier who claims that the Giulia failed to pass front, side, and rear crash tests. The source says the extensive re-engineering required has added about six months to the Giulia's development time. The Giulia is meant to spearhead Alfa Romeo's big return to the U.S. market in a way that the small-volume 4C never could. In 503-hp twin-turbo QV trim, Alfa Romeo claims the Giulia laps the Nurburgring at 7:39, on par with a Lamborghini Murcielago and a whopping 14 seconds faster than the BMW M4. At its U.S. debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November of 2015, we were told the car was six months away from dealers. We have reached out to FCA for further comment.

Damn...
Last time I test drove a new Alfa (a 159), the gear stick broke But, I'm not bashing the brand, I love Alfas. 100% Italian passion. Wish they could finally get their act together. Bring in German management please.

That's Italian engineering for you.
You can guarantee it will get heavier.

VW wanted to buy them but FIAT said no.

Haha excellent:
"Giulia failed to pass front, side, and rear crash tests." Which test did it pass? Is it real or just vaporware? I was excited that finally someone is turning up the heat with a real exhaust. Hope they can fix whatever's needed to be done structurally! Btw these days cars don't really fail crash tests like that.
