Alfa Romeo Guilia steals new Porsche Panamera's title as fastest sedan around the Rin

7:32, damn. We'll just have to wait until the new Panamera Turbo S is unveiled then. I doubt the next M5 will beat 7:32 though.

That driver has balls of steel

At first I thought he was going to crash at 1:50 with the way he had to correct the steering wheel to bring the car back to position. He has very fast reflexes indeed

There was a Giorgio Francia who raced for Alfa in the 1990s. I'd bet this is his son.

Yes you are correct sir.

The driver for that lap is Mr. Fabio Francia (a test driver for FCA Italy). He mostly does testing for Alfa Romeo and Maserati.

Note that it was on PZero Corsa tyres, whereas the Panamera and M5 would be driven on MPSS or normal PZeros, which are street tyres with a wear rating of UTQG 300 (MPSS) or 220 (PZero) The PZero Corsa is only a UTQG 80 tire.

On such a long track I'd expect that to be worth 10-20 seconds easily!

this is not stock car (for 100% doesn't have stock tyres, it sounds different than stock car, it accelerates up hill faster than a stock car on straight road)

as usual,
Nurburgring lap time becomes a marketing trick just like 20 years ago fuel consumption.

I just don't belive in this.
The same goes to Megane RS, Civic Type R (video with car with rollbar inside - does the stock car have rollbar inside?! i guess NO!) etc.

Just another bull*hits and marketing tricks....

Those cars have shown on various different tracks to be in the same league with for example an m4 (which also has a similar nordschleife time). So my bet is that those cars are really that fast.
I dont know if you've ever been to the ring or the surrounding villages, but thats pretty much megane rs country (many many teams and driving schools etc race those things). They are popular for a reason (very fast for little money). With the new Civic, my bet is that in a year or so it'll be civic country

What was the general track rule of thumb again? every 100kg is 70hp or so?

Nothing is in the same league or class as the M4. No response needed.
